You should make a great physical therepist or what ever you want to be, it will just be harder to get there and harder to stay there!.

Not impossible however so do not give up! Many very sucessful people are or have had Bipolar Disorder!. I sugest you do what I have done!. I keep a list of BP's next to my desk, just to remind me of my potential when I feel bad about myself!. To get my complete message, send me a message with your email and I will gladly send it!.

Be upfront and honest about your symptoms when you talk to your doctor!. Even if you are bi-polar , there are effective medications and therapy that will help you be successful regardless of what occupation you choose!.

Future jobs are not allowed to discriminate against you if you are level on medication and are qualified for the position!. Some employers will ask for health records to make sure that the person is capable of holding down the position they have applied for, but again, they can't discriminate if your doctors feel that you are responding to your treatment!.

Good luck and remember there have been a lot of VERY successful people who have been diagnosed with bi-polar disorder and you have EVERY reason to believe that you can be successful too !!

Bipolar disorder is extremely common and manageable through medication!. Unless your medications are off and you are bipolar with schizo effective features (the eagle is telling you through the TV that the FBI is coming for you) you should be fine!. As a physical therapist, they will want to do a routine health physical on you, but your mental health shouldn't be an issue!. No job can look at your health history unless you sign a written release allowing them to!. It's part of the HIPPA laws!. Don't be scared to be honest with your doctor!. You'll be at more of a disadvantage job hunting if your bipolar disorder is unmanaged than if you are taking good care of yourself!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

any job that wants to look into your health history has to get you to sign a release paper - so you will know if someone is looking!.

on the other hand, if you are already working for a company, sometimes they have the right to access your health info without your permission!.

i have friends that are bipolar, and it hasn't kept them from getting jobs!. but if they just storm off the job and never explain and don't come back to the job, they do get fired!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Bipolar Disorder will not inhibit your work unless you come off a medical routine you have (assuming you are on one\may be\will be)!. You will be perfectly fine!. :)

Bipolar Disorder will not stop someone from hiring you at all!. The only case I could think of where it might, is if you were prone to violent moodswings, which some are, but most of the time, aren't!. Good luck - and you in case you are still worried about it, why not look for a bipolar support group!? They're a great help in situations like these :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

You will be able to help others better because when they are down you will understand that and help them through it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
