There is a schedule to keep the patients busy each day!.
There is a morning check-in to say how you are doing and a wrap-up at night to say how the day has been!.
Each day the patient will meet with his/her team which consists of a psychiatrist and social worker!. The patients medications may be adjusted to help them feel better!. The social worker will help the patient begin to work on a discharge plan for when the patient leaves the hospital!.
There is also group therapy during the day!. As long as the patient is not a threat to himself or anyone else, he/she can freely move about the unit!. I hope you will never have to find this out for yourself!. Best Wishes!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It just depends!.

1) If it is the type of facility where you are considered dangerous or violently psychotic, yes they will do that!. They also give you medication injections!. The length of time you stay there can vary!. I am not certain if they allow visitors!.

2) There are also mild facilities, like crisis stabilization, where you have your own bed or room!. You typically go there if you are suicidal, have major depression and are non-psychotic!.The stay is usually 30-60 days!. You can walk throughout the facility!. Sometimes your outings are restricted depending on your risk level!. They may also restrict your driving priviledges!. They usually have a couple of counselors take out a group of people!. They usually allow visitors with prior consent!.

At both types, you are expected to attend group and personal therapy sessions and meet with a psychiatrist for medication management!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

hiya,no they dont strap you down normally,or put you in a padded cell,,if the patient is being violent and a danger to themselves or others, they may be sedated with injection in the bum, also,if they are being disruptive then they are sometimes placed in a sideroom by themselves, with just a mattress on the floor and nothing left with them to use to self harm, its not as scary as you may think lolWww@Answer-Health@Com

It depends on your mental disorder bipolar people are watched 24/7 and can't leave there rooms they take seditive pills to calm them selves down!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
