Suicidal and not answering my calls?!
Question: Suicidal and not answering my calls!?
Today, my boyfriend who's not taking his medication anymore (has bipolar type 1) was pretty down and mentioned thinking about taking his life!. We talked for a bit and then hung out with some friends/family and he cheered up!. So I figured he'd be okay and then tomorrow we could talk more about him giong to the hospital!.
I call him from work at 2am every night to tell him to go to bed, otherwise he'll stay up and not sleep!. But tonight he hasn't answered!. I've called more than I'd normally would (4x in 20 mins) but I'm scared!.
I'm considering calling non-emergency to check on him, but I don't want the cops to get mad if nothings wrong and I don't want him to get mad at me for calling!. I'm not sure what to do!.

If you're really that worried about him, then call non-emergency!. Just tell them everything thats been going on and how your worried he might kill himself, they will understand!. Talk to him again, ask him to think about seeing a therapist [if he's not already]!. It sounds like he's really depressed!.

You should call the non-emergency line for the police department and ask them to do a welfare check!. Tell them why and they will send an officer to check it out!.
A cop would not get angry over this, it is part of their job and they probably do it all the time for reasons much less serious than yours!.
You don't wanna get him mad, but if something IS going on, how awful would you feel if you didn't call and it turns out something did happen!? Even if he does get angry, just tell him you were concerned about him - it will surely blow over!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I have bipolar type 1 too, and even with medication life is difficult!. When a patient is not taking their meds for a serious disorder like bipolar, things get very bad most of the time!. If he has talked to you about feeling down and suicidal you need to take action!. Which is worse - a possibility of annoying the EMT's or losing you boyfriend!?Www@Answer-Health@Com
check on him he is a suicide risk you can go over your self or send a friend or call emergancy servises if its a false alam you still did the right thing okWww@Answer-Health@Com
