Even if you disclose it all, others cannot ever fully understand what it is like for you unless they've been there!. Your mom is not open to the idea and you're forcing yourself to perform!. She may be old fashioned and unaware, she may not take you seriously because of your age, whatever it is, you don't deserve to feel like a victim any further!.

You need to make an appointment with your family doctor and ask them to write you a referral to see a psychiatrist (a visiting psychiatrist, or one stationed at a hospital)!. You can either do this without telling you mother, or if you can't get your doctor's contact info or go there yourself, ask your mom to make an appointment and for the reason make something up, like your lower back aches and it hurts to move, etc!.!.

What you can also try, if you are in high school you can see a counselor and explain your position!. They have probably heard the story hundreds of times before and they will give you advice!. You have to demand confidentiality beforehand because you never know!.!.!.
If you are in university your school will probably have a clinic and a visiting psychiatrist-- you go through stages of seeing a general nurse, than a doctor (who can write you a script, but usually a psychiatrist is the one who will give you a prognosis, etc) and then a referral to a psychiatrist!.
You are right to take the initiative to take care of yourself!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It is really important that you go to a doctor and get a referral to see a psychiatrist so that you can be properly diagnosed!. There is quite a difference between bipolar and depression!. Once you have been properly diagnosed I'm sure the psychiatrist would be okay to talk to your mother and explain what it is all about!. Sometimes hearing it from psych is better as the information is based on facts with no emotional reactions!. Also, is there a particular reason you can't/won't tell your mother about how you are feeling!? It's quite possible she already realises there is something not right!. Hope this helps!. Good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I have advised a lot of people to write a letter if they have a hard time actually speaking face to face with someone!. It's a way of saying everything you want to say without being interrupted, it will give your Mumma time to read, take in and reflect on these issues before she speaks to you!.

Good luck with everything!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You need to see your doctor--or you can go to a mental health facility on your own, if you are 14!? I'm really not sure what age you have to be to go by yourself--you can call first!. They will treat you-- see a therapist and give you meds if you are truly bipolar and they will not by law, tell your parents!.!.!.!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
