Dr and I are crashing heads! Have I done wrong?!

Question: Dr and I are crashing heads! Have I done wrong!?
OK, this has been going on for a while now and frankly, Im over it, but I need to know have I done wrong, as this dr (who is no longer my dr) is threatening to or has turned me in for what she says is inappropriate behavior and obtaining meds inappropriately!. Now, I know all about dr shopping and that all dr's offices and pharmacies are linked!. I tried to get in to see this dr (who I had seen a year prior--actually it was her nurse practioner), but the only way to do it is through a pt portal (email system)!. I had not been to a dr in over 8 mos, as I was not happy with the visit to hers!. They put me on prozac, and when I said it was making me worse, they told me to give it more time!. Well, I changed dr's after that!. He took me off and put me on another antidepressant!. That made me worse, so we tried one more along with clonopin!. The effexor was the worst, and he had me stop cold turkey, and , basically, I went temporarily insane, had it not been for the klonopins I dont know what iddoWww@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
no, but the doctor may be!. She is refusing to treat you as an adult with knowledge of your own life!.

Doctors that are good listen to their patients!. if this dr is not listening to you then she is not a good doctor and you should keep looking for a good one!.

Get a statement from your previous doctor explaining the reason behind the medication that you are using!. Then go find a good yoga instructor and learn relaxation and meditation!. If you are not into yoga, try tai chi (sp)!.!.!. Any activity that will help balance your body and mind!. There are more than medications available to help treat depression and anxiety, and I encourage you to look into alternatives!. You say yourself that you don't want to use too many meds!. I so feel you there! I am on 3 meds, but only take 1!. I have diabetes meds, and cholesteral meds, and circulatory meds!. I only take the 3rd!. I lost weight which lowered my diabetes, and I have shown no problems with my sugar levels!. I refuse to take lipitor, it made me stupid and confused!. The next time I see my doctor I am discussing this with him and asking for an alternative!. My dr!. is a good dr!. He listens to me!.

This doctor is acting un-ethically and you can report her to the board of health, or whoever it is that dictates the actions of a doctor!. Sure, pharmacies are linked, but your treatment is confidential, and doctors who go around nosing into others' patients are acting unethically!.

I wish you much luck with your troubles!. Breath, deep and hard, for 2 minutes, then go forward!.

I didn't think of this before, but if she thinks she has a case when you've refused to take additional medications, then what is her basis!? Just because you have a prescription to a highly controlled and potentially addictive medication who is to say that you are trying to score drugs!? She is a terrible doctor!. If she takes you to court, just be sure you have a copy of your doctor's prescription!. You can get the information from your pharmacy and from the doctor's office!. She cannot prove something that is not true!. She can lose her license if she does not watch herself!. You can turn the tables on this woman and do a counter-suit for mental anguish and anxiety, she is not assisting you, she's hurting you for her own personal "God" identity!.

red flagged, that tells pharmacies that you **may** be abusing a controlled substance, but if you have the same doctor for all your prescriptions, and you are getting them periodically as needed by prescription, it will not fly long!. If this "doctor" believes this will help her maintain superiority then she is sorely mistaken!. Doctors are not supposed to take advantage of their position!. Shame on her!. Feel free to print this out and give it to her!. She is unscrupulous and unethical, and if I had her name and license number she'd be reported to the AMA faster than she can get anyone red-flagged!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You have not done wrong!. Sadly in the mental health profession there seems to be more doctors with a "God' complex than other health area's!. Also, there are a lot more doctors from other countries in the mental health system!. This would not be a problem if they did not bring their cultural ideas here!. Many males from other countries do not take a woman's word for much of anything!. They dismiss complaints and think they know better because they are male!.

Keep searching until you find a doctor who takes what you say seriously!. As for stopping the effexor cold turkey!.!.!. this was actually a good thing!. Some of the side effects when that medication goes bad can be much worse than the withdrawal!. (Been there done that) If a medication seems to be making you worse, don't let the doctor talk you into continuing it!.

I have been on various medications for over 20 years and I have never had one that made me worse to begin with, eventually work for me!. I have had ones that didn't seem to do anything eventually work for me though!. I am one who gets side effects with a LOT of medications in the mental health categories and whenever I have to make a shift (every 7 years) it is always hell to find the right one!.

I wish you the best of luck in finding a medication that works well for you!. Trust your instincts because you know your body better than your doctor does!. Just be careful with the klonopine because that can be very addictive and it sucks coming off of it!. I take it but I only take a half milligram daily even though they prescribe 3 mg!. daily for me!.

EDIT: You have not broken any laws!. You are not trying to get more of the medication than what is allotted to you!. Many doctors do not like to prescribe klonopine as it is very addictive and is a controlled substance!. There are people who abuse it!. You might just have gotten a doctor who is afraid to use the drug klonopine because of it's addictive qualities but there are doctors out there who can prescribe that medication along with an antidepressant!. Keep looking around!. This person is obviously not the doctor for you!.

EDIT: Don't be afraid to talk to another doctor about this!. Some people are junkies on this medication but you know you are not!. Let the doctor know that this works for you and that you want to switch to them and stop seeing this other doctor!. When looking for a doctor, you can ask the nurse before you ever make an appointment if that particular doctor has a problem prescribing Klonopine if it is needed!. If she says no right off the bat, ask her to go ask the doctor to be sure!. This will save you time and money!. That way you are not going to a doctor who will not prescribe it!. I will be looking for a new psychiatrist soon and I will be doing the same thing!. (mine is retiring)

EDIT: Red flag just means that they will be paying a little more attention to your prescription and how often you fill it than they might have before!. It is no big deal as long as you are following it as prescribed and are not taking more than the therapeutic dose!. No lawyers are needed and you won't even notice it has been done!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

No You haven't done wrong It's your body and health that you are trying to help!. Some dr's think the more meds then fine but it takes while to find the right medicine for a person they call this trail and error!. I am sorry for this!. This dr probaly had a bad day or something!. I don't know but you haven't broken any laws!. You have a right to be heard and for the doctor's to listen it's apart of their job!. I hope things work out for you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Oh dear, I am so sorry you're experiencing this!. I am sad to say I have been through this routine before!. You are being proactive in your healthcare, it seems to be the doctors who are causing some of your issues!. I have experienced this with Psychiatrists, Pain clinic docs, and GP's!. It took me 10 yrs to find a good psych!.!.!.!.now I wouldn't dream of seeing anyone else!. Keep looking out for yourself and find a doctor you can relate to and whom you can trust!! Good luck to you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
