Apathy? Confused? am I crazy?!

Question: Apathy!? Confused!? am I crazy!?
I feel apathetic to everything now!. I have no motivation to anything and nothing gets me angry!. I have no passion anymore it seems!. I feel gone!? I don't want to live my life like this!. I'm only 16 and if I had to live the rest of my life with these feelings IT WOULD BE HELL!. I feel like I have no emotions!? Like I'm emotionally disconnected from the world!. Could this be a thyroid issue!? THANKS!Www@Answer-Health@Com

It sounds like a very dissociative coping mechanism!. It's easy to detach yourself from the world if you're trying to ignore certain upsetting feelings and/or thoughts!.

My therapist calls it "checking out"!. It's a way to cope!.!.!.I do the same thing so I understand!.

It can manifest itself in apathy, isolation, withdrawing from others!. Try to look within yourself to see what you are trying to numb!.!.!.!.if you can sort of get to that point, you can learn to deal with it!.

I would encourage you to speak with someone!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It would be a good idea to have a check up with your doctor to see if your thyroid and other things are OK!.
You might have some of the symptoms of depression!.
Therapy can help you begin to feel better!. Please take care of yourself now so you can begin to feel better soon!. Best Wishes!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Im not sure it could be a thyroid issue but get your doctor to give you a blood test to check, there is medicaton for this!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

A thyroid issue can cause depression, lethargy, weight gain, and other problems!. Do a search on "hypothyroidism" and see if many of the symptoms fit you!. If so, you could ask your doctor to test your TSH and free T4 and see if treatment is warranted!. If you go this route, I suggest you insist on getting the free T4 tested along with the TSH as from what I understand a TSH test alone does not always catch the problem even though it is often given alone!.

You do not sound crazy, but you do sound depressed!. Aside from thyroid issues, depression can be caused by chemical troubles in the brain or environmental issues!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
