First, your body can only sustain the 'fight or flight' mechanism (adrenalin) for 10-15 min so if you do absolutely nothing at all, the attack will be over in short order!.

I have to take Klonopin!. You can try to "treat" your panic attacks with help from a behavioral therapist or whatnot, but from what I've been told by those very therapists, anxiety is one of the most difficult (if not impossible) things to treat because it's so "primitive" and it's an actual physical reaction!. What I have found to be most effective is to sit in a chair and go completely limp!. After you are just take some deep breaths!. Feel the chair under you, feel the floor under your feet, just start to notice your surroundings!. All the while you'll be taking slow deep breaths!.

Some doctors recommend breathing into a paper bag for a panic attack!. The same way as if you were hyperventilating!. It will balance the ratio of oxygen and carbon dioxide in the blood!. When you are breathing fast from a panic attack you get too much oxygen in your brain, that starts the panic attack!.

Also if you tell your doctor you are having panic attacks (s)he will prescribe medication to control them for you!. If they are bad enough it's probably a good idea!. : )Www@Answer-Health@Com

the first thing is to breathe out!. often during an anxiety attack you want to suck in as much air as possible as quickly as possible, and that is not good!.
