Do I have a minor form of OCD?!

Question: Do I have a minor form of OCD!?
So the question was raised to me by a friend, almost as a joke!. But then I looked into it, and I think I may have a minor form of OCD!.

I've got this obsession with always needing to know the time!. Either looking at a clock, my phone, or whatever!. And if my phones dies while Im out and no one else has the time, I freak and get panicy!. I just always need to know the time!.

Another thing is, I ALWAYS have bracelets and such on my right hand/wrist!. I can't stand anything on my left side! I don't know whats up with that :S But yeah!. So i cant wear watches since I cant wear it on my left wrist, and bracelets that I cant take off usually get in the way on the right wrist!.

The last thing that I think might be it, is that when I go to stores like Wal-Mart or Zellers with my parents and stuff!.!.!. I start reorganising shelves >__< I turn up all the fallen over knickknacks and put them in the rows they should be in and they all have to face the same way, and I put things on the right hooks!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Lots of people have certain obsessive-compulsive tendencies without it being full blown OCD!. Usually we just call them "quirks!." If you want to know if you actually have a problem though, ask yourself this - do these habits get in the way of your ability to function on a day to day basis!?

Most psychologists use that as a standard for whether or not a person has an actual problem or if it's not important!. If it does interfere with your daily functioning then you should see a psychologist!. If it doesn't, then you could try on your own to modify your behavior!. Start small, like wear ONE bracelet on the other wrist and the rest on your usual wrist!.

Good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

wow i never thought about the time issue like and OCD problem!.!.!.!.!.I'm the same way about the time!.!.!.!.I can't stand when a clock is stopped and I just hate watches, though I like ring watches!.!.!.!.you should totally look into that!.!.!.!.they are usually cheap and you can get lots of them so if one's battery dies you have another and yeahWww@Answer-Health@Com

That doesn't sound like OCD!.
If you had OCD, you would be in a state of bad anxiety and would have obsessions- thoughts that you know aren't logical, but won't get out of your head!.
I think you just have a few quirks!. : )Www@Answer-Health@Com

No, you don't have OCD!. We all have our own weird little meaningless personal habits and quirks!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Although everyone has little eccentric habits, it does sound like you might have a mild case of OCD!. I wouldn't obsess about it but you could ask your parents if you might speak to a therapist because you're concerned!. It would be a shame to worry needlessly about these habits if the therapist said that it wasn't serious!.

On the other hand, it would be good to know if there was something that could be done to prevent more habits like this from forming!. I always like to know, one way or the other!. Good luck to you!. You sound like a very sharp person!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

No you don't have ocd!. OCD is more based on routines and more so rituals!. If you freaked out when your daily routine was interrupted so you could not complete your daily rituals that would be a sign of OCD!. But needing to know the time is just!.!.!.a strange habit!.

Travel to different time zones and back, you will check the time so much it will make you want to throw your watch away :) well for me anyway!.!.!.

hope this helps!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It looks like you do a lot of things and have a lot of signs of OCD!. But please do remember, a lot of people have more like habits and need to know things like the time, but if you're getting panicy and it's overwhelming, I definitely think you could have it slightly!.

You probably do more things which you don't notice since yeah, a lot of things like that you just do!. But, if it starts getting bad and making you anxious, see a doctor!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Actually, it sounds like you might have OCD!. I've been diagnosed with it and I love it!. I love the control, the organization, the feeling of having everything around me in COMPLETE order!. I embrace my OCD and you may as well too as long as it doesn't really bother you!. There are varying degrees!. I like to straighten stuff up at the department store as well!. I can't stand a mess!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
