I was on something like a weekly rapid cycle - hypomanic, mixed, depressed, normal, hypo!.!.!.!. It was exhausting!. I managed it one day at a time eventually knowing that whatever state I was in would not last, and that I'd get about 7-10 decent days in there!. ;) I talked a lot to my therapist who I respect and trust!. I normalized my life as much as possible, maintaining sleep schedule, work, other routines!. At times, some of this was hugely challenging!. I focused on where my mood was at and tried to keep my mouth shut when I knew I was reactive or firing from the hip!. Ugh!. Lot's of enforced self-control which, you know, isn't a perfect solution, but the outcome does feel so much better than some other consequences!. Spending some time in peaceful places, avoiding overstimulating ones, these helped quite a bit, too!. Talking w/friends and family who understood always is good!.

I also worked a lot with my psychiatrist!. We went thru a!.lot of meds!. Finally, she insisted on adding Depakote which helped a lot!. For the last eight months or so, it's been tweaking all of them trying to find how little I can take and what amounts work best!. I'm on Dep, Lamictal, and a little Seroquel, all of which play a real role in controlling the cycling!. I'm also on Lithium which helps with the manic side (I keep Depakote minimal cos I don't really like it save what it does for my brain) but more importantly I think, it boosts Lamictal's antidepressant qualities and keeps me out of depression!. The combo works, and it works only at certain doses!. For example, if I decrease Seroquel only 25mg (little amount), I start cycling!. So, keep working with your doctor!! Just because your meds are close, doesn't mean close enough is all you can get!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

That depends on what you mean by "rapid cycling"!. If your cycles are more often than bi-weekly or so (two weeks of mania, two weeks of depression), then bipolar disorder may be a misdiagnosis, which may also explain why your meds aren't working!. Definitely need to consult your physician/practitioner about the situation!. Research a bit about Borderline Personality Disorder and Major/Minor depressive disorders as well if you are cycling faster than weekly to bi-weekly, and see if you think that may apply to you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Your question is about dealing with the symptoms of Biploar disorder and repairing relationships!. The answer to this is getting psychotherapy!.

With psychotherapy, you will learn ways to cope with the symptoms, change they way you behave and educate you on ways to have a normal life!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

i agree with the possibility of a misdiagnosis
also that doing relaxing things, exercise too helps
get plenty of sleep, eat healthy and take vitamins too
i prefer natural treatment though - check curezone!.comWww@Answer-Health@Com
