Well, first of all wake up early, around 10 maybe, and don't take naps throughout the day!. This will ensure you are more tired by your normal bed time!. Also, exercising early in the day will also make you more tired at night!. Exercising later in the day may keep you up!. Avoid caffeine after noon and don't eat a lot of sugary foods before bed time!. Take a hot shower before going to bed and prepare your mind for winding down and resting!. Also, an herbal remedy, melatonin helps you regulate your sleep cycle as well as feel a little sleepy!. You can buy it at any drug store or natural food store!. Only buy from the larger, well known brand names since these 'herbal' medicines are not regulated!. Melatonin is the chemical your brain makes that helps establish regular circadian rhythms, thus inducing sleep, hopefully at night and not at 5am!. Taking a melatonin supplement at night will help you establish normal sleeping patterns and then you can stop using it!. Hope this helps:)Www@Answer-Health@Com

How early do you get up in the morning!? Maybe you're not tired enough and all you need to do is get up earlier in order to be able to fall asleep earlier at night!. However, you could be suffering from type of insomnia, in which case you MAY need sleeping medicine!. Still, I would suggest that if this persists you talk to your doctor before buying any kind of pills!. You may not need them and in that case you will be putting unnecessary chemicals in your body and will be risking addiction!. I have friends who take sleeping pills and (I'm not a doctor of course) but I don't think it's necessary (One of the kids is still in elementary school - she will need to take more and more and become addicted as she grows up!. Plus it will be almost impossible for her to fall asleep in the case that she didn't take the pills); I, and just about EVERYONE else I know, have trouble sleeping at times so it could just be a phase!. Nevertheless, if some time passes and your condition doesn't change, talk to your doctor!. Good luck and sweet dreams!Www@Answer-Health@Com

First of all avoid any television before going to sleep!. If you like music, put some music on and listen to the music until you start ignoring it and dosing off!. Also you can try some Melatonin (it is a nature supplement and we produce it naturally in our brains before we fall asleep)!. It has no side effects!. You can also try some chamomile tea!. Also, you should try to stay in a silent room and think about your thought and try to meditate!. Most sleep deprived people are very stressed out!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Get off the computer and turn off the TV! Also, if you're just tossing and turning in bed, get up and read a book until you're tired again!. Laying in bed trying to sleep does not work!. If this is a constant problem, you have to become more routine in you're sleep habits (go to bed at the same time and wake up at the same time every day)!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Well at 3am, don't take sleeping pills!. Cuz i'm sure you have to be up for work in 4 hours prolly =p

Your sleep is really affected by your diet!. As yourself: Do you drink alot of soda/sugar!? Do you eat lots of candy, sugar, fast food!? All that builds into energy and keep you up for hours!. More than you need!.

Drink tea in the morning instead of coffee!. If you REALLY need coffee to start your day, have a half cup with no SUGAR!. At lunch have lemonade or water!. No caffeine, a little sugar!. And at dinner just drink wine or water!. This will certainly leave no room for sugar/caffiene to alter your sleep!.

And exercise before you sleep at the least!. Do 20 pushups & situps and 50 jumping jacks!. At least 2 hours before you plan on going to bed!.

I used to be an insomniac!. Then i realized I ate horribly and took poor care of myself!. It's really what you put in your body that decides what your body does =)

Exercise, but not within 2 hours of bedtime!. Have a warm bath, or shower, an hour before bedtime, then a glass of very warm milk, possibly with Horlicks, or one of the herbal teas, below, and use dimmer lighting!. Put your mind in a position where it wants to shut itself off, and sleep!. See insomnia treatments, in much more detail than can be included here, in section 3, at ezy build, below!. Use one of the relaxation methods, in bed, after lights out, on pages 2, 11, 2!.c, or 2!.i, but they can take some time to learn, (progressive muscular relaxation excepted) so learn and become proficient in their use during the day!.

An alternative is to use the EFT, in section 53, and pages 2!.q, and 2!.o, saying to yourself: "Even though I currently have a sleep disorder, I deeply and completely accept myself!." (or choose your own wording) while you use the acupressure tapping!. Some more; quick, and easy to learn, are at http://www!.umm!.edu/sleep/relax_tech!.htm The progressive muscle relaxation, (most easily learned) guided imagery, and mindfulness breathing are known to be effective, although I haven't tried the other 2 methods!.

Find out which works best for you, in the daylight hours, so you will be prepared, come bedtime!. For many people, a good idea is to develop a set "wind down" routine for the last hour before bedtime, so your subconscious mind learns that it is time to put thinking aside, and prepare for mindfulness, (awareness, without cogitation/purposeful thought) or the EFT, in preparation for sleep, but the idea with mindfulness is to not even think about sleeping: just drift off, naturally, during exercising those techniques!.

Avoid TV, computer, or anything exciting in this hour, although reading a BORING! book is a good idea!. I suggest that you try using the EMDR variant, below, prior to the mindfulness, or the progressive muscular relaxation, but after the EFT, if that method is chosen!. Experiment, to find which combination works best for you!.

(The following is a variant of Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing therapy, which has been used successfully for those people suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, insomnia, and anxiety: it is easily learned, quick to use, yet can be very effective!. It is easy to be dismissive of such a seemingly unusual technique, but give it a good tryout, for at least a few weeks, to see if it is effective in your case)!.

Prior to using either of the methods in the above paragraph, first sit comfortably, and take a deep breath!. Then, without moving your head, move your eyes from the left, to the right, and back again, taking around a second to do so (say: "a thousand and one": this takes approximately a second)!.

Repeat this procedure (without the words, although you can count, subvocally, if you like) 20 times: "A thousand and one; a thousand and two!.!.!. " and so on, to a thousand and twenty!. Then close your eyes and relax!. Become aware of any tension or discomfort you feel!.

Then open your eyes, and take another deep breath, and repeat step one, closing your eyes, and relaxing afterwards, in the same manner!. Then, repeat the procedure one last time!. Some people may find that this is all they need do!.

With experience, you may find that you can practise this in public, with your eyes closed, which greatly widens the window of opportunity for its use, and avoids attracting unwanted attention!. I have found that the 2 - 3 minutes spent using the EMDR markedly reduces distractions to the relaxation process, and is repaid many times over!.

I also use it prior to my chosen relaxation technique, after lights out, at night!. For more about Eye Movement Desensitisation & Reprocessing therapy, showing recommendations by those who have used it, including a professional psychotherapist with more than 20 years of experience in that field, see sections 33 - 34, at ezy-build!.

Usually, I have a cup of chamomile herbal tea, an hour before bedtime, and employ many of the techniques in section 3!. Others may prefer Sleepytime, by Celestial Seasonings, Relax, Be Sleepy, or valerian root, from supermarket tea, or health food aisles!. http://www!.ezy-build!.net!.nz/~shanerisWww@Answer-Health@Com
