I'm a hazard to myself please help.!

Question: I'm a hazard to myself please help!.
today i have been a complete mess, i have broke down bad and have no energy lef i feel emotional and phisically drained, i have cut myself today, and im ashamed as i havent done it, in around 5 months, bascially i have worked out that i have just been denying what is wrong with myself ( something has happened and has bought these things out ), which is i have no confidence, i think im fat, and i want to starve, it's pointless talking to my mum because she listens and saids shes gonna get me some help, and she never does cos' she just presumes i'm okay, i've told my friend and it helped, but only to get it off my chest, it still hasn't solved anything, and im not at school for 5 weeks, because its school holiday, so i cant talk to anyone there,
i'm also 15, and dont blame it on hormones, ive tried getting help, but people help me and then when they think im fine they let me go, but i need someone whos there for me when i need them, which isnt just once and a while!.

serious answers please :(Www@Answer-Health@Com

Don't be hard on yourself for cutting yourself, be proud of yourself for going 5 months without cutting, and just put today's down to an isolated event!.

You say that your THINK you are fat, which means that this is something you believe which may or may not be true, and I am sure you are not fat and that is without actually seeing you!. If you start starving yourself you are going to develop an eating disorder without a doubt, and then believe me you will have another difficulty to overcome!. Even if you were a bit overweight it's better than ending up having to overcome an eating disorder!. Learn to love and accept yourself as you are, easier said than done I know, but none of us are perfect - we are all EQUAL but different, so you are just as important/valuable as anyone else!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.you just don't realise it at the moment!.

Teenage girls are extremely at risk of developing Eating Disorders, due to low self-esteem/low confidence!. I'm not just saying this, when I was in the Priory for depression the ward was shared by the teenage girls in for treatment for eating disorders, and what came out during therapy sections was that the majority of them suffered from low self-esteem!. The other thing these girls all had in common was that they all BELIEVED they were fat when infact they were painfully thin!. How they BELIEVED they looked was TOTALLY distorted from reality!.

Teenagers can also be very impressionable, and I'm speaking from experience here as I started down the road of having an Eating Disorder but thanks to a comment made to my sister by a local shop assistant it made me see the light and I put the weight back on which was harder than losing it!. That shop assistant did me one almightly favour!.

There are things you can do to improve your confidence!. MIND do a Confidence and Assertiveness course and local colleges often do to!. Sign up for one, I believe MINDs is free (well it used to be) and you don't have to wait until September - I've done stacks of courses over the years but this one is the most useful and beneficial course I've ever done!. It can really change your life for the better!.

I think that you would benefit from some professional help whether it be counselling, therapy or a support group!.; a friend of mine is actually part of a self-esteem group that have group counselling!. Connexions is for 13 to 19 year olds so they may prove to be a good option!. Either ring your local branch or take a look at their website which is:-

Choose the Health Option and have a look through and maybe give them a call!.

I really do think you need professional help which would be ongoing until things improve considerably!. Don't delay explore all avenues now, the sooner you start on the road to recovery the better!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!. is your most precious commodity so don't waste it!.
