Answers:
Rachel is mistaken -- there is such a thing as split personality, although it is now known as Dissociative identity disorder!. While it is rare, with this disease, which is often caused by childhood traumas, there are distinct personalities, with different ages, genders, accents, personalities, etc!. which come out and actually interact and live during different times!. For the core, or original personality, there may be times when they have no memories from the time when an alternate personality is "out"!.

While it is controversial amongst psychologists, I would strongly suggest that you find some who specializes in this mental illness if you think that you have it!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

There is actually no such thing as a 'split' personality, however there are a number of conditions that can lead to that label!.!.!.

Schizophrenia: This is when an individual a cannot distinguish their own intense thoughts, ideas, perceptions and imaginings from reality!. Among other symptoms, a person might be hearing voices, or may believe that other people can read their mind and control their thoughts!.

Dissociative identity disorder (also known as multiple personality disorder):
This is an extremely complex dissociative disorder!. Its defining feature is severe identity alteration!. Someone with DID experiences these shifts of identity as separate personalities!. Each identity may assume control of behaviour and thoughts at different times!. Each has a distinctive pattern of thinking and relating to the world!. Severe amnesia means that one identity may have no awareness of what happens when another identity is in control!. The amnesia can be one-way or two-way!. Identity confusion is usually moderate to severe!. It also includes severe depersonalisation and derealisation!.

Depersonalisation disorder:
This disorder features strong feelings that you are detached from your body, or that your body is unreal!. A person may also experience mild to moderate derealisation and mild identity confusion!.

Dissociative disorder not otherwise specified (DDNOS):
In DDNOS, various types of dissociation may occur, but the pattern of mix and severity does not fit any of the other dissociative disorders!.

Borderline personality disorder:
BPD is sometimes referred to as Emotionally Unstable Personality Disorder!. Some argue that the term 'borderline' is misleading!. Originally, the term was applied to people who seemed to be on the border of being given a diagnosis of schizophrenia!. However, now BPD is seen as distinct from schizophrenia diagnoses, the 'borderline' aspect is seen to express being on the border of psychosis!. If someone has a psychosis, it means they have beliefs or experiences not shared by others!. Those diagnosed with BPD may have these at times of stress!.

Take care!.

I'm no expert on this but split personality is when you personality is fragmented normally due to a traumatic childhood experience!. Some symptoms are having big gaps in your memory, where you can't remember what you've done at all!. Has someone ever accused you of doing something that you have no recollection about!?!.
I hope you are fine, but if you have any doubts the first step would be to go to the doctor, if he thinks somethings wrong he may refer you to a specialist!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You might have more than one personality if
-you were traumatized as a small child
-you have to be in a "certain mood" to do your work
-you are missing hours or days of your memory frequently
-people know you, but you have no idea who they are
-you lose your car in parking lots often
-you get lost in your home town
-you find yourself someplace, and have no idea how you got there
-your friends report to you that you were acting totally out of character
-have unreasonable fearsWww@Answer-Health@Com
