Concerned about coworker!

Question: Concerned about coworker
I am wondering something about my coworker!. I don't think he is mentally stable and I'm not sure what to do about it because my boss is aware of it and so is human resources but nothing is done about it!. He does not bathe, he smells like you wouldn't believe, and he acts very strange!. He walks around muttering and swearing!. He can be doing something and suddenly just freezes or he throws his hands up in the air!. He will sit in the breakroom, pick his nose, and flick his boogers on the floor!. I mean, this is terrible!. I am very uncomfortable around him!. I refuse to touch anything that he touches!.
For someone to be so dirty it's weird because he opens all doors with a paper towel!. I wonder if he is afraid of germs but that is weird to me because he doesn't bathe!. I mean, the smell and the greasy hair obviously indicate he doesn't shower!.
Anyone have an idea what might be wrong with him!? I tried to find a mental illness to fit with his actions but didn't turn up with anything!. I'm concerned one day he's going to snap at my job!. Not to mention the hygene factor as well!.
Any input is appreciated!Www@Answer-Health@Com

This guy sounds like he needs help!. Most mental illnesses like depression and schizophrenia can cause people to neglect their cleanliness for a variety of reasons including low morale and energy and disorted thinking!.

This is obviously concerning you for you to post about it!. This guy must have relatives or old friends!. Perhaps you could approach this guy and be honest and tell him you're worried about him!. You could ask to meet him outside or work with someone he knows and discuss things with them!. Maybe his family dont realise how bad things have got with them, and they can then begin to try to help him!.

Alternatively if you dont feel comfortable doing that but think he could really have a serious mental health problem you can pass your concerns to health professionals who may be able to come and talk to him and assess the situation!.

Human resources must have access to details of his next of kin, perhaps you can suggest to them to get in touch with that person and share the concerns!.

Good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I can really understand why you are so uncomfortable in his presence!. However, I am saddened by the fact that although many people in your workplace are aware of this, little/no action has been done!.

I recommend that you ask him to see a doctor, but with you being so disgusted around him, I don't think you're the person for the job!.

When you mentioned he threw his hands in the air, it seemed to me as if he was putting his hands up as if in a robbery!. Do you or your colleagues know of any personal experiences of his!?

What I must urge you to do is to confront the situation either by confronting your colleague or consulting a doctor!. Whatever you decide, choose well, so as not to affect this man!.

But I must add that I don't pity the man, I pity you for showing no compassion towards somebody that is obviously mentally unstable and needs your support, not your disgust!.

Good LuckWww@Answer-Health@Com

Ohh, I like this question ROFLMAO!

You need to be up front with him, say "Dawg, when the last time you washed your butt !?"

Really you have to break it to him the hard way and let him understand it is not cool to act weird and not take baths or showers!.

Say "your not goin to get a girl friend if you don't take care of your self" any Man would hop his butt in the bath tub and stay in there for 3 hours scrubbing his butt if you tell them that ROFLMAO!

Maybe he is just crazy though LOL like the "hands in the air" thing would freak me out!.!.!.I would go hidein for weeks LOLWww@Answer-Health@Com

He could have multiple phobias!.!.!.like maybe he is mysophobic (has the fear of germs) and has ablutophobia (fear of bathing)!. People who have one phobia are more prone to have multiple phobias I think because phobias are many times accompanied by anxiety disorders such as GAD (general anxiety disorder), SAD (social anxiety disorder), OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder), etc!. and these are all usually caused by a deficiency in serotonin (which is a chemical in your brain that helps in the modulation of anger, aggression, body temperature, mood, sleep, sexuality, appetite, and metabolism!. When someone has one or more of these disorders they're mental health isn't really stable!.!.!.Yeah what i'm trying to say is kinda hard to put into words so i hope you understand and good luck!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
