How to get more sleep? insomniatic because i think too much at night..!


Question: How to get more sleep!? insomniatic because i think too much at night!.!.
I usually end up staying awake until four or five o'clock just because I have soooooooooo much on my mind!. I think about friends, family, ideas, philosophy!.!. even in the daytime, my mind is perpetually clouded with thoughts!. It's really frustrating because my lack of sleep drains my energy when I get up the next day!. And my eyes hurt!.

Is it normal for a person to THINK this much!? My head even starts throbbing on some rare occasions!.!. and it's been like this for the past year or two!.!. [i'm 18]!.

what can i do to help myself fall asleep more!? i feel like if i sleep, i'll miss the opportunity to have some great idea, like i'm turning off my mind when it's at its peak!. i know that seems weird but there's just way too much on my mind every night!.

any advice on how to sleep better would be great!

p!.s!. i've tried meditation & that just makes me think more! [since i have so much quiet time to myself when i do it]Www@Answer-Health@Com

I have the same problem!. My mind gets over-stimulated and I can't stay asleep!. I sleep about 1 to 3 hours, then wake up and cannot get back to sleep!. I am so wired all the time, all I can do is exercise myself to exhaustion and then just crash at night!. At times I can't do that and I just have so much on my mind and it makes me insane after awhile!. I start reviewing in my mind what I did all day, and then planning what I'm going to do the next day, or else I'm pondering something totally stupid for hours for no apparent reason!. The only thing that helps a little is try to exercise more, even if you already are exercising now!. That's the only thing I can really recommend other than sleeping pills!. Well I guess you could try counseling to see if maybe there is some reason that you aren't aware of too!. Good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

i actualy have your problem right now what helps me sometimes is go for runs/exercise a few hours before you sleep this burns off most of the energy you got in you if that doesnt work try drinking hot chocolate and reading a book it relaxs you and slows down your breathing which helps you sleep
