Type 1 diabetes usually begins in childhood, spontaneous and requires daily injections (up to 4 per day) for the rest of the person's life!. It can be very difficult to deal with when it comes to school, friends, puberty, dating, childbirth etc!.
Type 2 often begins in later life, usually as a result of poor diet, can be treated with diet only but sometimes medication and more rarely injections!.
Both can lead to problems in later life such as visual impairment, arteriosclerosis, amputation of lower limbs and weight problems!.

I would have to say type 1 as the have to do the insulin shots!. I have type 2 and take Metformin
