I don't agree with one person on here who said anger is bad for you!. It's only bad when you keep it inside!. Its a natural emotion just like any other and you have a right to feel it!.

Anyway to answer your question, here are a few ideas: scream into a pillow or punch it, crank up the radio and sing along loudly to a song that relates to you (just not while you drive), write out a letter to whoever/whatever you're angry at explaining exactly how you feel then get rid of it (burn it, rip it, etc), exercise (can try running, or do something where you punch and kick like tae bo)!. Remember to do all these alone so you don't get others caught up in this or scare them lol!.

Once you feel that you've gotten rid of the brunt of the anger, then relax!. Anger is very tiring!. Also, at that point, it would be healthy to talk it out with someone too!. Feel free to rinse and repeat the examples you get on here whenever you feel anger brewing again!. If you had it pent up for a while, it will take a while to release all of it!. Allow yourself that time to let go!. Hope this helps and btw, very kind of you to not want to take it out on someone else :)!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

ANGER MANAGEMENT: If you can't deal with it by using one of the techniques, such as counting backwards from 20, to 1, (and prevent yourself from making yourself angry, in the first place) is important to express that anger appropriately, at the time, and to the person who caused it, if possible, or immediately afterwards!. If not, maybe by walking away later, and bellowing your rage and/or frustration!. In some situations, such as work, or school, it might be better to cover your mouth with a cupped hand, bandanna/handkerchief, or use the crook of your elbow, to muffle the sound!. Some people find that it helps to journal those thoughts, and emotions soon afterwards!.

Anger, which is repressed, rather than healthily expressed, tends to fester, and later may cause explosive fits of rage, or depression!. It helps to have someone you can talk to!. For more physically inclined people, a punching bag, or hitting your pillow, can be an effective release mechanism: visualise, as vividly as you can, that you are striking back at the cause of that anger!. "But next time, when you get mad, just remember this quote: 'Those who anger you, conquer you!.' It's basically saying that when you give someone the power to make you mad, or let it get to you, it's like they're controlling you!.

When I realized that, it made me mad, so I try to control my anger and not let people see it!. You can still control your anger without being walked all over!. You just have to draw a line!." Try saying to yourself, in your mind: "I am fire! I am ice!"!. Repeat for as long as it takes for you to calm down sufficiently!. Anger management is addressed in much more detail than can be included here, in section 4, at http://www!.ezy-build!.net!.nz/~shaneris

To calm your mind, you can directed your anger towards something different!. For example playing a game or reading a book!. I sometimes walk in the park while counting my breath!. (kind of meditation!.) If you like animals and your anger issues are serious, you may want to own one!. I love my dog and when I am angry, I sometimes play with him!. Which help me calm down!.

Everyone is different and you need to find your own way to direct your anger towards something that calm you down without harming others!.

All the best!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Computer games are a very good release but they can make things worse!.

Weight training is another good method

The real answer is to let it go and don't let it get pent up in the first place!.

If you vent your anger on somebody else, there is a good likelihood they will vent some anger on you!. Maybe it's time you asked yourself why you have pent up anger and sorted it out!.

If you don't let it get pent up, it will pass after a brief time!. You're letting it drag on and not accepting the facts of life!. You are arguing with reality and not moving on!.

EDIT:

Look at the source of your anger!. Is it caused by other people or is it caused by your expectations:
of life,
of other people and of yourself!.

It has to be one of those three!.

Other people can be irritating, it's a fact of life - deal with it openly and honestly!. Don't think of yourself as any better or worse than anybody else!. You're not, we're all equal!. That doesn't mean you are supermodel material or Einstein!.!.!.!.!.you're you!.

Don't think you know what other people think about you unless you are extremely observant!. Do trust your instincts primarily!.

Some friendships will be for ever, most won't!.

You don't know how to deal with your emotions and you think anger is bad!. Anger is what it is and is only bad when it moves in and out stays it's welcome - which it has with you!.

If a friend or relative dies, it is not wrong!. It is a tragic event that hurts!. Don't ask why, death is the ultimate fact of life!.

Not everybody will like you!. Be honest with yourself!. If you're a nasty person - it's your fault not theirs!. If they are nasty, it's a compliment to be disliked!.

If you seek attention by being nasty to others, you will receive negative attention and you will not be able to control it!. It will spiral out of control!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

First control it!. Breathe deep and walk away!. But it sounds like you have that down!.

The how's about a some group exercise!? A spin class, step, aeorobics etc!. Followed with a little time at the computer with a game that doesn't require too much thought!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

I would ask myself what has happened to cause such anger, I would try to reconnect with the cause, understand it, resolve it , accept it!. Then let it go and be free of it!.
Otherwise it will always be there , Www@Answer-Health@Com

scream at your pillow, crying, play a game and scream at that, hug a stuffed animal, go for a walk, basically if you are alone, scream at the top of your lungs!.!. It really helps :) Good Luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com
