I was diagnosed with bipolar three years ago after multiple suicide attempts!. My doctor told me that I needed to take medication, but I refused - I don't like the idea of meds!. Instead, I started basic meditation along with finding my triggers and the other basic stuff!. I don't remember my source, but I find that Buddhist meditation helps quite a bit!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

have you heard of 'Reality Therapy' (think it is re named now) a book that forms part of the anti psychiatry movement!. the psychiatrist who wrote it emptied entire psychiatric wards and worked in private practice as well!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

I have been diagnosed with bipolar twice in the period between ages 16 and 53!. A psychiatrist told me that if you take Lithium or Depakote and add an anti-depressant you can become manic!. Sometimes what can happen is your brain gets used to the bipolar medicine and your bipolar resurfaces!. The best thing to do, I think, is talk to a doctor and maybe have your anti-depressant switched or change your dosage of bipolar medication!. Bipolar happens to be the most popular diagnosis of all right now - everybody is diagnosed with it!. It turned out I wasn't bipolar at all - I have PTSD from childhood abuse and neglect, DV from different husbands and boyfriends, and I've been through some really traumatic stuff!. These things really can't be discovered quickly and easily!. It usually takes a whole lot of counseling to get anywhere and the idea that there's a magic pill for everything and that everything is chemical is just nonsense - it's the new philosophy in the modern age, so that psychiatrists don't have to do as much work and it's because there isn't enough money with our healthcare crisis, for doctors to do complete and thorough jobs, like they used to!. I'm sure everything will turn out just fine!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
