How do I go about getting meds?!

Question: How do I go about getting meds!?
I want to get on some anti-anxiety meds, I am 16yrs old, can I just walk on into my doctors and tell him I have social anxiety disorder, I have been diagnosed by a psychotherapist with Youth Mental Health, and tried cognitive behavioral therapy, but I haven't been in contact with them and all their hoopla for about 6 months, they said I couldn't go on meds until I got a better relationship with my mother!.
But if I just trot on in, will the doctor prescribe me something, of course I will tell him I have tried therapy and all this, but what are the chances of him being able to give me something!? What will he do!? Because he is a doctor, not a mental health professional I am worried he will just refer me back to those people, who really don't help me at all!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
to get meds!. u have to go throught a Dr!. and their process of evaluation to get prescribed the meds u need!. Even if you don't agree with the process u still have to do it in order to get what u need!. Certain Drs!. can only prescribe certain meds so u have to see the appropriate ones to get the appropriate meds u needWww@Answer-Health@Com

I think you should consider what the doctors say about the medications!. Meds are not always the answer, and the wrong type of med can lead to you trying to hurt yourself rather than make you better!. You can ask them to recommend you to another mental health center or physician, and go talk to someone else, but you can't just waltz in and get meds!. They will probably look at your past medical history and see that you did not complete therapy, and encourage you to go back to that route rather than just drug you up!. Just a personal opinion, I have seen many teens overdose on antidepressants/anxiety meds because they actually become worse on them!. Www@Answer-Health@Com
