Answers:
I think most of the antidepressants cause some type of weight gain!. This is just one of the many side effects they can cause while taking them!. At one point I was taking paxil and had a very hard time getting off them myself!. It seems with antidepressants at least for myself they work for a while and then they do the complete opposite that they are supposed too!. They make me feel 10 times worse than I did when I first started taking them!. Then when I tried to get off them it was extremely hard to do!.

You didn't mention of you were already off the ones you were taking or trying to get off them!. If you're trying to get off them make sure you check with your doctor first and tell them what you want to do and that you are concerned about weight gain from them!. Maybe the doctor can make healthy suggestions for you!. Also depending on what kind you are taking you should never just stop taking them cold turkey!. You should try and wean yourself on them in case they have side effects from withdrawal!. This will ease the symptoms of withdrawal!.

I hope this has helped you!. Just let your doctor know what concerns you have and what you are going through!. They will make recommendations for you to follow that suit your medical condition!. As for dieting, maintain and eat a balanced diet and get some exercise!. Even walking a steady walk for half an hour at least 4 times a week will help to increase your weight loss!.

Take care and best of luck to you!. I currently am maintaining a set diet plan and watching what i eat!. Trying to get to exercising more each week but it isn't easy!. lol

I've included a link to the FDA government page about antidepressents that might provide some information you'll find useful!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

None that I know of!. If your medication suits you then if you can why not plan a daily exercise regime as this will help with the weight gain and also help with the depression!.

When I was on them I found my weight shot up and has never really got back to what is was before I went on them!. But thinking about it perhaps if I had exercised more frequently then I would have held my weight gain at bay!.

I know it is very difficult to feel motivated when you are feeling depressed but do try as it will help!. You see you might change your medication to something that does not suit you instead of addressing the issue of the weight gain!.

I think when your on anti depressants you often feel sick and eat to combact the feeling of nausea!. I know I did and I think that is was the constant picking at food that was to blame more that the medication being the cause of my weight gain!. I could be wrong though!.

All the best and I hope that you will be feeling better soon!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
