OKay, so I've admitted I'm a bit depressed and taking steps, but why..!

Question: OKay, so I've admitted I'm a bit depressed and taking steps, but why!.!.
why now that I have admitted a problem, i feel worse than before!?

Seems like before I was dealing, and now I feel miserable!.

Perhaps because I've stopped self medicating (with alcohol) myselfe!?

Is this just in my head!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

The hardest part is admitting that something is wrong, so feeling worse is normal!.!.!. it's kinda like reality just sinks in and you have to say to yourself, "Ok, this is real!. Now it's time to get better!."

It's good that you've stopped medicating yourself with alcohol!.!.!. that is not a good way to cope at all!.!.!. it's just a temporary sheild!.

Talking to someone may help sort it all out!. I know it's hard to take those steps, but sometimes it's good!. However, I do know that speaking with someone won't help until you are ready to get better!.

So, once you feel ready, maybe consider that!. Until then, don't use alcohol like that and try (as hard as it is at times) to see the beauty in life!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

You're dealing with problems, rather than masking them with alcohol!. That is why you feel worse!. But, alcohol doesn't really solve anything; it simply forces you to keep drinking to try to avoid the real issues!. It not only may leave you unfulfilled and weak, it allows your depression to hover over you and make you anxious!. And drinking has, as I'm sure you know, lots of physical drawbacks!. You should really go to a therapist who will help you explore the causes of your depression!. Once you know the causes, the depression will lift to some degree, and you'll be able to figure out far better coping mechanisms than drinking!. You could also try medicines like Prozac for a quick fix that's better than alcohol, but by no means perfect!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

Do you go to therapy or have a psychiatrist that you trust!? You may need to be medicated (like with anti-depressants, not alcohol) and combine that with therapy before you start to feel better!.

Alcohol was just a coping mechanism, and now that you've stopped using that, you need something else!. I strongly suggest getting help professionally, it helped me, and don't revert back to using alcohol or some other drug to cope with stress or situational depression!.

Please get treatment, and learn more effective methods of coping!.

Good luck and I hope you feel better!

It's possible that now that you have admitted it to yourself, you see the problem as big as it really is which can make you feel "worse" bacause you are now thinking about it more!.but I cant really imagine that "admitting it" would make you really feel worse!. you just allow yourself to feel as bad as you are really feeling and were feeling before!.
what i mean is you probably feel as bad as before but now you feel it more before you allow yourself to feel it!.
but on the other hand, giving up alcohol can be a real cause for it getting worse (and the fact that you drank can be a sign of something being very wrong too)!.
i dont know what kind of depression your depression is!. the sort of "deal with your life and make better decisions" or the sort of "you need to take pills" (many people, including specialists deny that there are these two kinds and believe in one!. but believe me!. there are two kinds of depression!. and your self medication with alc may suggest you need meds!. but who knows maybe you just need therapy or a vacation )

Alcohol is not a good way to medicate yourself!. This only numbs your pain temporarily!. See a mental health specialist maybe your brain chemicals are out of balance and some meds may be in order!. Also, talking out your problems is good way to get them off your chest and to see your problems from a different perspective and to find neutral solutions, that maybe hadn't even occurred to you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I'm the exact same, after I addmitted things weren't right, I felt even worse than before!.

I think people block the problem out (sometimes with even drink or drugs) then when they see the real picture of how they feel it hits them hard!. Just think though, you've kicked drinking, it's gonna be hard but the only way is up!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

yes,if you drank alot before and suddenly stoped you will have to give it a couple of weeks before you feel ready to take on the world but hang in there you will love the new you and wont be depressed anymoreWww@Answer-Health@Com
