How can I convince my mother to take me to the doctor?!

Question: How can I convince my mother to take me to the doctor!?
My mother doesn't like wasting time/money on mental health issues, but I think I have OCD, though I haven't been diagnosed other than through self-diagnosis, and it really interferes with my life!.
I don't know how to make an appointment for myself to see if it's true, but she thinks I'm just trying to get attention!.
I can't stand living like this, and I just want my mind to calm down!.
I'm anxious all the time, trying to keep both sides of my body even, and I don't know how much longer I can deal!.
I know I shouldn't try to treat myself without, at least, the guidance/opinion of a medical professional, so how can I convince her to let me see one!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
You should find someone that she will listen to and talk to them about how you are feeling!. Then you should have them and yourself talk to her!. If she hears it from someone else then she may consider that you are serious!.

You can also talk to someone in your school, a social worker and get them to help you to talk to her about how you feel!. OCD is distracting and if it doesn't get treated it can really impair your quality of life!.

Don't give you, keep telling her!. Good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You can always call a public health clinic, a free clinic, they sometimes have good references to the places that can actually get you on your way to a good source of help!. OCD is nothing to bypass, my nephew has it and is very "bi-polar" on top of it!. It never hurts to call and ask questions!.!. Be strong!.!.!. I know you can do it !.!.!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

Tell her that your mind races all the time and you can't relax!. Tell her that you have heard that an antidepressant will stop the mind racing!.

Two weeks on something like Zoloft will make a big difference!. For OCD, it doesn't take a psychiatrist, just any M!.D!. that can write a prescription!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You should say to your mom something like "im ill and all you can think about is your money "it will probably make her think about it and take you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You should never try to "treat yourself!."

You could exaggerate things a bit until she gets the point!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

simple!.!.!.!.tell her u think u have an OCD then tell her to look it up on the internet

im sure she will march u there herself then hun

hope it works out xxxWww@Answer-Health@Com

Start off seeing a councler at school!. If you can have an adult arguing on your side for you it, it may help!. I know my parents were very much for me getting help innitially for bipolar, but then it quickly turned to "im doing it for attention" and prevented me from getting treatment!. Though if you very seriously do have an issue and can have an adult fight for you on it, and your mom refuses to get you medical help, that is child neglect!. Mental health issuse are just harder to fight for because many people do just act out like that for attention and there is no physical test for mental illness!. If it is impacting your life, whether it is OCD or not, it needs to be treated!.

Also maybe see if you can find a free clinic for councling!. Councling may not get rid of much or anthing, but can help you cope with a lot of it!. Also support groups!.!.!.!.other people your age also dealing with the same things can help with coping too!.!.!.!.!.stratagies many other people use and such!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I'm of the class your mother is-I think it's pointless to go to a 'doctor' (I personally do not consider psychologists/psychiatrists doctors, despite what their degree says) for "mental health" issues!.

However, it's your body and your life!. Your mother needs to understand this!. Assuming you're less than 18, if you feel the need to go to the doctor, she SHOULD be taking you!.

Your school should have a nurse, or someone to speak with over mental concerns!. Go talk to them and see what they think!. Most likely they'll write a recommendation to your mother to have you see the people you want!. Good luck! (regardless of my stance on it ;) )Www@Answer-Health@Com
