I am vulnerable to loss?!

Question: I am vulnerable to loss!?
I don't often get emotional, but the other day I was listening to this song about a boy whose girlfriend dies in his arms!. I started crying a bloody river! Really, lots of tears!.!.!.
That got me thinking!.!.!. The only time I get emotional is when someone experiences loss!. The ending of the new King Kong movie made me cry (when Kong gets shot my the airplanes and the main character is looking at him and crying), so did the ending of the game Half-Life 2 episode 2 where this girl Alyx witnesses her dad being murdered!.!.!.
Also the movie "the green mile", when the prison guards have to execute John Coffey, even though they kinda love him!.

I didn't cry when my grandmother died!. I felt!.!.!.emotionless!.!.!.even though my mom etc were crying!.
What's going on here!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
I think most people are vulnerable to loss!. Were you not very close with your grandmother!? If not, that would explain why you weren't crying, because you didn't feel the same loss as your mother did!.

If your were close with her and not crying, it could be because of the social situation and the role you subconsciously felt you had to play in it!. You're a male and there are other people around, it doesn't portray the strong, supporting son role you have for your mother if you were to cry!. Society has hammered gender roles into us whether we like it or not, and we subconsciously follow them, whether we like it or not!.

When you were watching those movies, were you alone!? Or at least with another person you feel you can be completely open with!? That would explain why you cried there!. You felt the loss, you related to it, and you weren't ashamed to show your emotions!. At your grandmother's funeral, perhaps you empathized with your mother but her death didn't hit you as strongly as it did her, whether because you weren't as close or because you were in a different social setting where crying didn't feel right!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You probably just have a lot of empathy, which is a good thing!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
