How come I beat myself up?!


Question: How come I beat myself up!?
Whenever I get mad, I cannot control and and start breaking, hitting, and throwing objects!. I stopped doing that, but now I beat myself up!. I start smacking myself on my head very hard, punch my thighs, tear at my face!. What is going on!?!
Are there any other alternatives than a psychologist!? They never worked for me, and I've gone about 4-5 times, and it is a waste of money!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You might want to see if a therapist can offer some insight!. 4-5 times probably isn't enough time -- or maybe you've been going to the wrong one(s)

Also, give your domestic violence hotline a call and ask if they can refer you to anger management classes!.

In the meantime, perhaps you can expend this excess energy in a positive way: get out and walk hard, take a run, go to the gym and use the machines, grab a big paintbrush and paint a huge canvas in the garage, do jumping jacks, anything!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Anger is a lot like fire!. If there's no extinguisher, then the fire won't go out!. A lot of people are like that!. You need to stop, take a deep breath and think, will taking my anger out on objects and myself, really solve the problem!. Usually anger stems from frustration!. Maybe it's because you blame yourself for whatever your mad at and it's your way of punishing yourself!. Try getting a stress toy instead of hurting yourself!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

its because you get an adrenaline build up, try running around the block to use up that surge of energy, or go outside and hammer nails into a tree stumpWww@Answer-Health@Com
