Answers:
That is disgraceful, and definitely professional misconduct!. Social Services are covered by the Caldicott Guidelines on disclosure and privacy (first developed for the NHS after the Alderhey scandal!.

Social Workers (as in the case of Therapists and Counsellors) have a network of supervision whereby Senior Social Workers or Therapists help and discuss cases and personal issues arising from them, that's where this discussion should have taken place!. Or in closed support forums (like the one I use)

I would seriously hope that a social worker would not post something to Y!A about a client!. If they are they are in some serious need of supervision!. A decent social worker should always have a supervisor or colleague to bounce things off of!. A social worker or any mental health professional should never post to a public forum to solicit advice as there is always the possibility that the person/family they are posting about reads it!. If there is some sort of closed forum specifically for mental health professionals/social workers that might be another thing but this forum is definitely not a place to look for suggestions on how to treat clients!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

No a Social Worker would not do that as they are bound by confidentiality!.

If someone has been doing that, it most likely was someone pretending to be a social worker - maybe a neighbour or relative with a grudge who knows your business!? If they have done that, it's impersonation and illegal on Y!A!.
Report it!

Good luck

Don't think they could

If it was a anonymous paragraph about an anonymous family i dont think it would matter!.

Though things like that are really meant to stay in the workplace, but if theres no names on there they probaby know they cant be found out !?!?
They are probably just looking for peoples oppinions but it is very unprofessionalWww@Answer-Health@Com

it is probably an attempt to resolve a real life situation that they have not encountered before and don't fully understand how to deal with it!.

Using real names would be rather unprofessional though!.

If she/he wrote information which included names, then that's unprofessional, unethical and she should be reported!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Thats illegal so is probably BSWww@Answer-Health@Com
