I've heard alot about people not being able to own a gun due to bipolar disorder!. Is this really true!? And does it apply to people with other mental conditions, like schizophrenia!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

It's really true!. If you have ever been diagnosed with a mental illness you cannot legally purchase a firearm!. I can understand this in certain cases, for some people could be deemed dangerous, but for veterans that were diagnosed with PTSD long ago or people with mild cases of bipolor I really don't agree with taking their second amendment rights away!. They shouldn't be able to take your rights away that easy!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
While there is no permit or license needed to buy rifles and shotguns or at least in the state of minnesota!. I do know you need a permit to buy a handgun!. My friend just bought a gun and I looked on the permit application form and it does ask you if you have ever been committed to a mental institution!. I don't know if this means involuntary or voluntary!. I also don't know if this is for people who are court ordered to be in a psych ward or not becuase I don't think the police keeps records of psychiatric stays unless it shows on your criminal report that you have been ordered by a judge to be committed into an institiution!. Anyways, I probably shouldn't own a gun becuase of my issues so I think it's all for the best!. Www@Answer-Health@Com
One of the prereqs is that you have to be mentally sound to own a firearm!. If you have ever been admitted to a hospital for a mental or mood disorder, you might be outta luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Yes, it's true!. If you have any kind of history of mental illness, they'll deny you!. I was hospitalized twice before and I tried to get a gun license, but they won't give it to me!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
