Train tack suicide.....(NOT a Q for me, ok!?)?!

Question: Train tack suicide!.!.!.!.!.(NOT a Q for me, ok!!?)!?
If somebody lay across a train track and waited for a train (regular speed, I guess) how quickly would they die!? And how likely is it that they wouldn't die and just end up with SERIOUS injuries!?

*AND NO - THIS QUESTION IS NOT FOR ME AS MY LIFE IS PRACTICALLY PERFECT AT THE MOMENT - I'M JUST CURIOUS* =]Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
It would probably kill them unless they panicked at the last second!. Then it would sever a limb or two and they may die in a lot of pain from shock and bloodloss at the side of the tracks!.

Tell whoever is thinking about suicide by train to think of the train driver!. The driver is the innocent victim here!. They're just doing their job, trying to support their family or whatever and then they have to deal with accidentally killing someone with the train they're driving!. That's not fair to do that to them!. Train drivers end up really traumatized for life after going through that!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Well, this should be more in the physics section, if you're just curious what will happen, then it depends what kind of train!. Let's say that it's a standard subway train - one which a person keen on suicide would be likely to choose!.

First of all, they would be electrocuted by the "Third rail" which powers the train, which would instantly kill them!. However, if they missed it, then the train would slam into them which such speed and force that it would kill them instantly!. If they were at a station, then they have a chance of surviving with severe injuries, as the train would be slowing down!. They would then be cut up by the wheels, and their body severely mutilated by the rest of the train!.

So, if they were to walk down the track to ensure that the train was at full speed, then the chance of death is pretty much 100%!. And it would be relatively painless, as the train slamming into them would bring almost instant death (Subway trains are quite low - slung, so they would hit you even if you were lying prone on the tracks)!. But you would be electrocuted in a subway track anyway, so it's kind of irrelevant (Electrocution would mean that you have a few miliseconds of intense pain, and then nothing)!.

Hope that helps! Remember never to do it yourself!Www@Answer-Health@Com

no you would most certainly die, it would grind you into tiny pieces

Wow that would be a horrible way to die, and very messy!.

The train would suck you under the wheels if you lay on the tracks, and youd be turned into a liquid by being squeezed agianst the metal wheels by metal rails with a huge amount of weight and force behind it!.

Thats a stupid way to kill yourself!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If they are laying right on the tracks, or across, they will probably die immediately!.

If they don't, they will wish they did!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Well first of all you would die instantly no doubt about it!. On the show Dirty Jobs there was an episode where people had to clean trains in this situation!. Your body just blows up on impact!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
