My mom wants to get me tested..?!

Question: My mom wants to get me tested!.!.!?
My mom thinks I have a problem!. Ive shown problems probably from when I was about 7!. Im now 14 and my moms starting to get worried!. She thinks I have OCD!. Everyone at school including teachers think I have OCD and some of my teachers have emailed my mom to make sure shes aware!. I honestly dont think I have it!. I think that Im just a little picky but its reached a point where physically, I cant tolerate things lol!. I love perfection in most of the things I do!. I love school projects but now, I cant work in a team!. Its not that I want to do everything my way, its that the people in my group just dont take time to do things right!.
I can get unorganized sometimes but I can remember exactly where everything is, when its in a mess!. So that makes my principle think that I might have a photographic memory!. I told him flat out that Ill let the doctor tell me whats wrong with me before I start telling myself that I have a problem!. Last year, the teachers would make me take pop quizzes because when I studied, I didnt read the book, I would skim and then when reading a question I could identify certain phrases and remember seeing it in the book and I could even recall the page number!. I thought that it was unfair that only I was given tests without warning, but I passed them all!.
I get nervous and I get aggrivated when people tell me that I have a problem but now Im starting to see it myself!. My mom never yells at me!. We have a relationship where she sometimes gets mad at me but she hasnt actually yelled since when my parents were married!. But Im the one who puts dishes away and cleans the kitchen!. And one day mom tried to be nice and put the dishes away and clean the floor!. I didnt mean to come off in such a bad way, but I just got so aggrivated at her because the dishes werent placed in the cabinets and stuff the right way!. And then she got sooo mad at me the next day because while she was at work I recleaned the floors because I didnt like the soap she used!. The floor just didnt feel as smooth!. She came home and actually yelled!. She told me that my real dad had OCD!.
Im slowly starting to accept that maybe theres an anxiety thing going on with me!. I think of myself as just organized and maybe even a little picky!. But Im getting sensations in the back of my head that make me mad and the feeling goes down into my shoulders and make me almost need to sit down (if I get angry enough)!. My mom was thinking about getting me tested or something for OCD!. How do they even test your for OCD!? People could just act like they have a problem and theyd probably get drugs that way, which Im sure alot of people who are addicted to narcotics do that!. I dont see how you can be tested for it!. What do you think!? Do you think maybe I have OCD!? You can ask questions and Ill answer them in details or something!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If I remember correctly the test for OCD is an interview or 'survey" and a qualified person will be able tell from the interview if you have OCD!. You are right to not depend on others opinion they aren't experts!. And it is my inexpert opinion that you appear to have this problem BUT if you understand how you feel and how others feel you will be able to live with people easier!. There are some elements of people with OCD that I truly appreciate!. One friend cleans so well I don't have to worry that I have missed something!. So when we do a fundraiser involving food I make sure she comes in with me!. She does a great job and I am free to do things that I am better at!.
Don't be afraid to get tested and a label is just a place to begin to live with others and make your life easier!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You're like I am, just particular on the details!. It does sound like you have OCD, because according to psychologists, I do too, even though it's not so bad!.
I hate working in groups for the same reason you don't, and my OCD does interfere with some things, but lately I've been learning to just accept imperfection because in life, it happens!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Obviously perfection in grammar and spelling doesn't matter too much to you!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

You wrote alot!.i read the first part and im the same way!. possibly your a perfectionist!. i am, but only with school projects, nothing elseWww@Answer-Health@Com

I have to tell you something!. THAT WAS REALLY LONG!.
However, my aunt has OCD!. It's really nothing to worry about!. She lives with it!. She can't walk in like puddles, go bye outdoors trash cans, nothing can be held below the waste!. She carries wipes every!.

But it's something people can live with!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I'm not a doctor so I cannot tell you that you have ocd!. What I can do is give you some links to some websites that you may want to look into and see if you can find anything similar between yourself and the conditions listed!. I would go get tested anyways it would probably mean alot to your mom!. The way psychs test is usually done by an oral history and a questionairre for your mother!. Anyways here are the websites!.

do you have to check if the door is locked or the tv turned off several times!? or do something several times in a row to convince yourself that it's done!?

these are all symtems of ocd and what the questions are like!. my son has ocd!. it's not a big dealWww@Answer-Health@Com

Abra,

Luv your picture, BTW!. Let me see, your dad had it, your mom thinks you have it and your teachers do to!. But you are not convinced, I guess!.

Well, how about getting tested and see what happens!? Not all people with OCD take meds and maybe you will not have to!. But people with bad cases of OCD have a very difficult time with life, they do not fit in!. They have difficulty working on projects at work because the project has to be *done right*!.

Most things in the real world are not as perfect as they should be, most of the time it is better to have the right answer and not get involved in the perfect *process*!. Quick is better than perfect, normally!. This probably does not make sense to you now!.

You can get some help with this now or you can let it go and let it really affect you life later on!. Mostly, OCD does not get better if left alone or untreated!.

Anger is not a good thing to have!. I am glad you can channel your anger, for now!. But how much longer will it be before you can't channel anger in a positive way!? What happens then!?

There is link below to some really good stuff about OCD, and there is a screener tool, too!. Maybe you should try out the screener!. Just a thought!.!.!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I suggest that you do get tested for OCD and then that way you will know whether you have it or not!.

From another persons perspective it is extremely difficult dealing with perfectionists, especially in the workplace where they run up to you and point out every single thing that youve done wrong for the last couple of months!. Its like they keep some sort of tally and its so annoying they keep spot checking what you do!. I have a few of these people in my workplace and they are a pain in the proverbial!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You might or might not have it!. I'm not sure!. But I heard that people with OCD like to do things over and over and over again until it's perfect!. From what you wrote it doesn't sound like you do that, but you just re-organize things a few times until it looks right!. Www@Answer-Health@Com
