Read a book you don't like til you get bored!. Turn out all the light and tv and everything (believe me this works I have the same problem!) and lie there for at least an HOUR if you don't go to sleep then turn the light back on and read again do this for about 20 minutes then turn out the lights again and I think you should be sleepy by then! I usually stay up all night on her but you never know sometimes I sleep sometimes I don't!! Hope it helps!!

Thanks for the answer!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

i have a case of insomnia, so i kinda know how you feel!
here's what i do,

first, turn off any t!.v, light, or music if you have it on!. the light stimulates your brain to make you think it's daytime, causing it to wake you up! i know its hard to do, but just turn it off =P hehe

now lay down and get comfy, then, think about your favorite senery!. the beach, forest, park, whatever! then just picture it!.!.!. with all of the leaves from fall season that are colorful and beautiful!. theres no sound, just you and everything around you, okay!? now picture the wind slowly picking up and the leaves slowly roll away in a swirly motion!. or if you prefer winter, imagine seeing every single snowflake fall in slow motion to the ground!.!. imagine seeing every detail of every snowflake!. when your done picturing this, and you feel calm and relaxed!.!. try counting backwards from 100!. BUT, when your counting, imagine your slowely writing it in your head!. imagine the numbers in slow motion being written on a blank piece of paper, VERY SLOWLY!.

if you get to 1 and your still awake, try again! sometimes it takes a while for the brain to get use to the ritual, but soon enough, it WILL be effortlessly easy! you'll be sleeping like a baby in no time!

GOOD LUCK! hope it works for you like it did for me!

I always try this:

Put something on in the background, like a fan or some music!. (Not too loud, though) Sometimes the slightest distraction(s) can help you focus more on that than what may be going around and around in the back of your mind!. It will take your focus of of that and may allow your mind to settle and rest!.

I then lay down and close my eyes!.!.!.I start to imagine my toes getting tired and the muscles relaxing!. I move up to my calves and do the same!. To the thighs, then to the abdomen!.!.!.all the way up to your head!. You can actually sike your mind into relaxing your body one portion at a time!.

Can't hurt to try, right!?

Good luck and sleep well!Www@Answer-Health@Com

spin your head around, (sitting in the bad) that will make you dizzy, imagine that life is so beautiful, that everything is so quiet around you, and that your body is very heavy, and wants to rest, it usually works for me!. Pray, ask God to give you peace in your mind and in your heart, put everything in his hands, he will help you sleep!. Good nightWww@Answer-Health@Com

Hi! One thing that makes it difficult for almost anybody to get to sleep is if they don't "turn their head off" for the night!. Are you thinking about some important, weighty, or stressful things!. Many folks try to wind down after getting in bed!. They think about all the things they did today, etc!. and start "planning" tomorrow!. You should start to unwind before you get to bed not in it!. Hope this helps!Www@Answer-Health@Com

try some tylenol PM, early before you go to sleep, also a glass of warm milk they said that when you make the milk hot and drink it, releases some chemical that make you sleepy!.!. Good luck!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Keep some Benadryl on hand, it makes you very drowsy and helps you relax to fall asleep and is very safe to use for a sleeping aid!. Tylenol PM works really good too, it has the same ingredient as Benadryl does!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
