Question: I've turn down medicaid, and SSI that was requested by a 96 hour hold in the past!.!?
I'm going to college, I just lost my part time job last week due to my boss yelling at me!. But he is an Iraqi war veteran, so I gave him a pass, and did not want to ruin my credibility in college, since it was a job connect to my college!.

I have documented mental problems!. But with my medication and therapy, I believe I can hold a part time job, and live partly off student loan money (I know someday I'll have to repay that money)!. I also get Pell Grants!.

My question is, shouldn't I try to be a 30 year old adult, and work for a living and let others more seriously ill than myself go on medicaid and disability!? I don't want a hand out, and I can go to NAMI for free!. And my psychiatrist isn't the cheapest, but I can afford it!. It's a lot better to see him, and get help ful medication, than waste money on alcohol, and ruin my life!.

I've notice that while on medication I've been doing better in my studies!.

I'm a recent suicide surviver!. I had 52 stitches in my wrists, and know not that the body is a Temple, and to respect it!. Your comments please!? Www@Answer-Health@Com

anyone that would concider going on SSD ore SSI for a "hand out" needs to be psychologically evaled STAT!. I've faught my way through life with chronic pain!. making 35K a year (chicken feed) but I had independance!.!. now I cannot work, I am going crazy and SS is fighting me tooth and nail even though I have all the genetic markers for the terminal disease thats causing the problems!. There is NO way I could hold a substancial job even if I wanted to, and I'd prefer it!. But I cannot stand sit of lay down for any length of time, I live in constant pain that is a 8 on a 10 scale some times a 15!.

If you at all capable of working I say go for it!.!.!. but be careful, you may cook yourself!. However you can always reapply later in life when it all becomes too much!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I commend you on your nobel outlook on life, but I think Doctors know what is best!. My husband is having a hard time adjusting to not being able to work!. He did try, but the heat made him so sick (due to meds for schizophrinia) he had to follow the advice of his doctor!. You pay taxes and they want to give medicaid, I say go for it, so far my husband hasn't been offered jack!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
