Some pdocs give paper tests to start!. No big deal and no studying required!. Then they talk to the person!. Mine asked basic questions about symptoms current and prior, medications, medical problems, and also general stuff about me, my family, friends, work, how thing were going!. Most of this was conversational, not direct Q&A, which is how I think the more skilled psychiatrists do it if the person is open to talking!. So relax!. It's not the inquisition!. The pdoc isn't judging!. S/he is working on how to best help!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
It depends why you scheduled the appointment!. However if this is your first meeting, the psychiatrist will most likely want to get a history of your presenting problem (why you called), a familial and work history, and information on any previous medical conditions, as well as more general information about you as a person and your relationships!. Don't be nervous, and be honest, the doctor is there to help you, not judge!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
The psychiatrist will ask you a bunch of questions!. Such as, Do you feel like people are out to get you!? Or, Are you feeling suicidal!? They're basic Yes or No questions and it shouldn't be too painful!. Depending on your diagnosis this could take a while!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
