How long does Fluoxetine take to start making you feel better?!

Question: How long does Fluoxetine take to start making you feel better!?
I only started on it yesterday, how long before I feel better!?
And also, why didn't it come with any kind of information leaflet!? I know I can look up the side effects etc online, but isn't it supposed to come with some sort of info!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Fluoxetine seems to take anything from one to six weeks in order to have an effect!.

For some people, it's a very effective treatment, and for others it is not!. I personally have found it very helpful in combating my depression!. It works best if you use it in combination with other methods, such as exercise, and reading good self-help material!. If it is depression you are up against, then David Burns' 'Feeling Good Handbook' is genuinely a good place to start!.

The information leaflet you get contains not a lot more than on this link: http://www!.patient!.co!.uk/showdoc/3000250!.!.!. This site is recommended by my doctor at least, so it is reliable!. If all else fails, I can happily send one of the little leaflets from my fluoxetine in the post, or scan it and send by email if that would help!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Give it five days at least!. When I started taking it I just lay down for a bit!. I had a headache dry mouth, and whatever else, but eventually it did start kicking in and my thoughts became much better!.
As to the information leaflet, yes, you shpuld have one!. It might be worth going to your chemist and asking for one!. At the chemist pills get seperated and divided up so sometimes you might not get one, because they come in packs of 30 or something and some people get 14 per prescription so theres only one leaflet between two people!. They'll probably have one to give you!. You just have to ask for it!. Take all the paperwork you have to get it though, just to prove to the chemist that you are serious and not some chancer!. You could even get a photocopy off them if you really pressed the point!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I have been on them for about 3 months and haven't really seen any benefits but I have had lots of different anti-depressants and they all seem to be about the same!. You should have received a patient info sheet, go back to the Pharmacy that you had them from and ask them for a copy!. They do say 4-6 wks before improvements normally!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

For me it took about 3 weeks for any positive effects, and i actually felt worse before i felt better!. But it was worth it in the end!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

6 weeks!.
I took them for 13 years severa;l times!. The only thing that really works is exercise!. If it's for depression that is!.

give it 1-2 months!. Some meds are more effective on certain people than others!. Www@Answer-Health@Com
