I am reluctant to answer because I don't want you to feel worse but I don't want to leave you unanswered!. It maybe that rocking is not to do with your fathers disease but that it's just a sort of family habit, many family members share similar mannerisms!. It may be that you're absolutely fine but your fears of developing a disease are hindering you!.

It is really so hard to say!.

There are non-medical organisations you can talk to such as:

Childline: 0800 11 11 who are just there to listen to people who need to be heard (please do not be offended, I do not know how old you are)

Samaritans: 08457 90 90 90

Or if you are not from the UK there are bound to be ones from your home country!.

I hope this is of some use to you!. I wish you every luck for the future xWww@Answer-Health@Com

Rocking back and forth is a form of self-comfort!. If this is your only "symptom" I wouldn't worry too much!. However, you don't say how old you are so if you're in your late teens, early 20s and are having other symptoms such as hearing voices I'd seek medical attention!. At the very least, you would benefit from some help with what appears to be some depression!. You're going to have to trust someone in the medical field if you want to feel better!. We're not all bad!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

maybe you say your father rock back and forth, and your body has mimicked what it saw!. rocking back and forth doesn't seem like a mental disorder!. it may be something your body does out of habit!. or maybe it's just in your genes to rock back and forth from your father!.

hope this helped you view another perspective on this!. best of luck Www@Answer-Health@Com

you are NOT schizophrenic, depressed maybe, manic or clinical,
thats for a doctor to decide; as for your lack of trust in doctors
suggests to me that you are a young person with your silly hat on!.
now get to the doctors NOW!Www@Answer-Health@Com

It's completely possible that you're schizophrenic, it's been proven to be partiarly genetic!.
But wait for some other sign before you jump to conclusions, it could just be a learned behaviorWww@Answer-Health@Com

Perhaps you sit and rock because you find it soothing and it reminds you of your father!.!. I think its more a fear you have rather than your fathers illness, try thinking other things and start going out a little moreWww@Answer-Health@Com

first of all don't kill yourself second eat your meds and stop isolating yourself third if you start hearing voices seek medical help and eat yor medsWww@Answer-Health@Com

Its not completely un-natural to rock back an forth, thats why they they made rocking chairs right!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

oh boy!.!.!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

My understanding of schizophrenia is that positive symptoms (delusion and/or hallucinations) are required for the diagnosis!. Rocking is self-soothing!. It could be learned, but it may have more to do with depression, fear, anxiety, being discontent!. These things would also explain your isolating as well!. I'm not an expert and am not trying to diagnose you, but based on what you wrote, it sounds more like depression and fear/anxiety over the possibility of getting your father's illness!. There's another thing that seems related, too!. It sounds like you were abused as a child!. That can create a lot of insecurities, self-doubt, low self-esteem, and other consequences!. They could be part of the behavior and have a role in depression if you are feeling depressed!.

Although you say that you don't want to seek medical help, I think that's were you will find relief and aide!. The doctors and/or therapist that you'd be seeing are different than the ones you dealt with when you were young!. The whole system is not as you experienced!. Don't deny yourself hope out of a misplaced fear!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
