Answers:
I have a high self-confidence and was born an optimistic creature and nevertheless I return and check the door twice!. This common act to many people is a signal to hyper, super worries!. We are stressed in every day life and easy get out of control!.
Here's how I remedied this problem!. This very moment when we lock the door we do it automatically!. Well, do it consciously!. Just two seconds of focusing attention on what you do!. I even sing" lock, lock, the door is locked!.!." and smile!. That's all and you'll feel good
Try it and you'll see I am right!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I am not sure that it is a mental problem!. I mean when my husband and I go to bed, we always walk around and lock all the windows, and then both of us, not even noticing each other, will go and check them all again!. Same with the doors in the house!. We both double and triple check to make sure the doors are locked!. Maybe it has something to do with where you live!. Maybe your just being cautious because of where you are!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Sounds like OCD, or, you're paranoid!.

My mom does that a lot!. She always tells me to "watch" the door when she takes a shower!.

I guess something scared you when you were little!. Was it a house break-in!? Or maybe you read something!.
I also have the urge to do something, even though I know it's totally safe!.

I think you're just a worrier, probably have a little too much anxiety!. If it's causing you problems, then you should go to a therapist!. A lot of people check, double check, and recheck things!. As far as low self-esteem goes, I think you would find it worthwhile to see a therapist to explore that issue!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

Sounds like OCD!. I have it sometimes when I'm stressed out I will have to check things like the stove 4 or 5 times to make sure the stove is turned off and all the lights are out!. It seems like its mild, it can become a problem if the checking starts to interfere with your life!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Sounds like a mild case of OCD-Obsessive Compulsive Disorder!. Unless it it really bothers you, I would try to do things to relax and try not to worry about it!. It is worries you that much, bring it up at your next doctor's appointment!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I'm not a doctor, so this isn't medical advice!. However!.!.!.

It's unlikely to have anything to do with your self-confidence!. It's far more likely to be a manifestation of obsessive-compulsive behavior!. In cases of OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder), someone feels compelled to perform an action, generally multiple times (sometimes a specific number of times) before it feels "right!." Or there's a sense that if you don't do it, or don't go through a prescribed routine, something bad (otherwise undefined) may happen!.

The most "common" portrayal of OCD is repeated washing of hands!. But it can be any number of things--alignment of items (such as shoes) in a particular way, touching an item (such as a door knob) a certain number of times, and so on!. Or--to give a real-life example--a kid in school taking a multiple choice test who only can answer "A" or "D," never "B" or "C!." So if the right answer is either A or D, he gets it right!. If the correct answer is B or C, he can't mark the B or C--he marks A or D even knowing it's wrong!.

Doctors don't exactly know what causes it!. It's classified as a mental disorder, but is likely due to a chemical imbalance in the brain!. If treatment is needed (and often it isn't), drugs such as Zoloft are sometimes used!.

You might speak to your family doctor about it; you'll probably get a referral to a specialist!.

Hope that helps!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
