Is depression an addictive behavior?? ?!

Question: Is depression an addictive behavior!?!? !?
Answers:
depression is either chemical or situational!. if it's chemical that means you have a lower level of serotonin in your brain & you're going to be depressed!. situational is when you are depressed because of stress, then when you are less stressed, the depression is gone!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Depression is a serious biologic disease!. Although no single cause of depression has been identified, it appears that interaction among genetic, biochemical, environmental, and psychosocial factors may play a role!. The fact is, depression is not a personal weakness or a condition that can be willed or wished away!. This disorder is believed to be associated with changes to levels of chemicals in the brain such as serotonin and nor epinephrine!.
And to answer your question directly: NO! Depression is NOT an addictive behavior!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

It's not that it's addictive, I believe that sometimes, when people get depressed, deep down!.!.!. They actually want to stay depressed for a while because they get their own kind of endorphins from other people showing pity!. It's usually the ones who stand strong and say "Hell no, I won't be held down by depression!." that don't get depressed very often!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Depression is a mood disorder in which the emotional symptoms can include sadness, loss of interest in things you once enjoyed, feelings of guilt or worthlessness, restlessness, and trouble concentrating or making decisions!. Physical symptoms can include fatigue, vague aches and pains, headaches, and changes in weight or sleep patterns!. For some, depression can include thoughts of death or suicide!. Addictive behaviors occur when you're feeling anxious, Obsessive-Compulsive, extremely stressed out, or was conditioned by some stimuli which trigger abnormal, ritual behaviorsWww@Answer-Health@Com

i don't quite understand your question, but depression is not simply a behavioral problem!. it's a desease in fact!. when you're depressed it affects your body and mind, and in many cases it worsens, even if whatever sparked the depression in the first place has not changed, or has gotten better!.
my aunt had a miscarriage and was clinically depressed for months!. the only cure was therapy, medication, and social interactions with family and friends!.

now i think your question may be more along the lines of, do people get addicted to acting depressed!? well it's just that; acting!. some people like to act sad, and they actually trick themselves into being sad, just to seem deep and emotional!. half the time they aren't even aware they're doing it, they're not thinking "sweet, everyone thinks i'm moody and deep because i act like this", they just do it and it's part of their character!. now that can get addictive, just like any personality trait!. people can get addicted to being happy, funny, sleezy, etc!.

haha, sorry if i'm way off your question!. hope you at least thought my contribution was interesting!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Depression is a mental disorder characterized by a pervasive low mood, and loss of interest or pleasure in usual activities!. The diagnosis is made if a person has suffered one or more major depressive episodes!. It cant be addictive unless you are suffering the same problem, but neverthe less you will react differently!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

its not really addictive on purpose!. like being depressed after a long period of time can become a weirdly addictive feeling, because somehow it gives you a very strange feeling of comfort!. i guess its because getting out of the depression and back in to the real world seems so challenging and frightening!.
depression is horrible!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

In a way!.!.!.!.like anything else, with practice you get better at it!. The reason for that is the neural pathways in the brain!. It's the reason musicians get better with practice, martial artists, dancers, etc!. However with depression, this is not a good thing!. That's why I believe its important to get help as soon as possible so you don't get these negative thought patterns so ingrained that it gets to be like a wagon going round and round in a deep rut!. Gets hard to break out of!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

yes in that it feeds itself!. it's a totally self absorbed thing, to be depressed, and it sucks the energy out of people who are around the depressed person!. Some people with it end up using it as an excuse for not doing whatever (getting a job, dealing with things, etc)

it's all got a chemical basis, but there is learned behavior on top of thatWww@Answer-Health@Com

I think, every one has the feeling of depression!. Don't think too much about one thing if you got the remedy or answer about it!.
When you are depressed don't sit alone and open your heart and share your feeling with parents and close friends!. Above all pray to GOD!.
If depression is continuing more than week needs to consult with a specialized Doctor!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

I guess it can be- some people may continuously act depressed for attention, become obsessed with that attention, and Voila, you have an addiction!. Very few people enjoy feeling depressed, so i would say most people wold become addicted to the hopefully-positive consequencesWww@Answer-Health@Com

Depression isn't as much addictive as it is hard to get rid of!. Once you allow yourself to become depressed, it generally becomes worse before getting better!. Making it difficult to get rid of!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It's probably not generally considered that, but sometimes I wonder if it is!.!.!.because for me it feels at times like I am afraid to 'give it up'!. To hope would be to risk disappointment, so I just continue feeling blank/numb/depressed!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

Actually I was watching "what the bleep do we know!?" and it is addictive if you think about it often enough and get some sort of enjoyment out of thinking along those lines!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

i dont get what ur trying to say if you mean you cant stop you should see a doctor or things will get worse for you depression never fully leaves us but it does calm down heaps with the help of a doctorWww@Answer-Health@Com

Depression is more like that 'mental weight' you can't get rid of!. You don't enjoy it -- as opposed to an addiction which is a craving!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
