Are shaky hands a normal side effect of depression medication?!

Question: Are shaky hands a normal side effect of depression medication!?
One of my friends just started taking medication to treat depression (I don't know the exact brand but I can find out if it matters), and she's noticed that her hands have been shaking a lot lately, whereas normally she has very steady hands!. She's also had a much reduced appetite lately and has been eating less, which she attributes to the medication!. Is there a probable cause for her shaking hands, and if so is there a simple solution!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

i have the same problem with mine!. at first, my antidepressant (lexapro) caused me to eat less, therefore my hands would shake because i was hungry, but didn't notice being hungry!. all of a sudden, a month ago, my appetite shot out the roof and i eat everything in sight!. my hands no longer shake!. so i wouldn't necessarily say it's from the medicine!. i would say her small appetite is the cause (originally by the meds)!. Hope I helped!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

The purpose of antidepressants is to return a person to normal functioning!. If side effects are interfering with life, then she should talk to her doctor, especially since there are many different types of antidepressants!. Both of the side effects can occur and are not "significant" unless she becomes undernourished or underweight!. Most people, however, don't have to live with these!. The simple solution is to switch to a different antidepressant!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

i don't know about shaky hands and reduced appetite!. as far as i know, the common side are:

Diarrhea
Headaches
Nausea
Anxiety
Sexual problem

Also, if those are the common side effects, you don't have to be worried so much since many side effects are go away as time goes by

Your friend is experiencing normal side effects of antidepressants!. Unfortunatley right now there is nothing she can do to get rid of these symptoms!. These medications are not perfect, but most people will deal with them so they don't feel so crappy!. God bless you and your friend!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It can, but it would help to know exactly what type and dosage of medications she is taking then consult a google search under the name of that particular drug and read possible side effects!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
