Yup!. They can make a person pretty upset!. Which is why you have to go there for community service!.!.!. they want you to think less about yourself and more about the people who are living there!. Sad!? Sure, but one way you might look at it!.!.!. your being there gives you a chance to make life just a little bit better for someone!.

Another way to look at it: put yourself in their shoes - how would you want someone who was coming to your nursing home for community service to treat you!? what would you want them to do for you!?

I know it's sad, and really different than what you're used to, but you can be really good to someone every time you go!.!.!. and every little bit counts! You're earning some really good Grownup Points!Www@Answer-Health@Com

instead of looking at it as scary why dont you look at it as trying to help people!.

the people probably and usually don't like to be put in nursing homes because they feel like they've been forgotten by thier loved ones!.

try to be friendly and smile at everyone!.

i used to be scared of them too but then i realized if i can make this one day better for one person ive done my job, Smile say hey and if you can socialize ask them about thier favorite food or where they're from and (most the time)they'd be more than happy to chat with you and it makes them feel special!.

i smiled at one lady one day and she walked up to me on her way back to her room and said "thank you" and gave me a hug!.!.!. i was like 0!.o !? i asked her for what and she said "for smiling!. its always so dim here!. we need someone with good spirits in here and just a smile is all it takes to change someones day"
she felt nobody ever acknowleged her anymore and she didn't like the feel of being a ghost in her "home"

i went to my car and cried

but it was very heart warming!.

act like you would want people to act twards you if you were in that situation!.

I worked in a nursing home during my first year in college!. One thing you need to focus on is the individual people, cause they are just people like you!. They were 16 yrs old once!. If you pay attention you will notice that some of the residence will have very likeable personalities and will love talking with you!. Just pick out your favorite and give them some attention!. They will love you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Your a Bright star to theses lonely people!. Why deny them of your presents!. If you can just try to look at them a they were once young too, and if we all live this long we too will end our journey perhaps in a nursing home!. So spread out your arms for a big hug for theses people!. You maybe the only thing they see of youth today!. Tomorrow maybe to late!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
