Please disregard Panda Freak on her opinion about Depression!.

Depression shows itself in the following ways:

sadness
anger
extreme happiness
Loss of interest in normal daily activities
Feeling sad or down
Feeling hopeless
Crying spells for no apparent reason
Problems sleeping
Trouble focusing or concentrating
Difficulty making decisions
Unintentional weight gain or loss
Irritability
Restlessness
Being easily annoyed
Feeling fatigued or weak
Feeling worthless
Loss of interest in sex
Thoughts of suicide or suicidal behavior
Unexplained physical problems, such as back pain or headaches

Signs of depression are generally constant however not always!.

You most likely do have BiPolar disorder however and you should get the opinion of another doctor!.

Depression and BiPolar disorder as so alike its really hard to diagnose thats why a lot of BiPolar and Depression medication are one and the same!.

Depression is hard to get rid of and takes on average 2-3 years!. So its not likely that it was dormant for ten months so if it is depression then it went on unnoticed!.

Get the opinion of another doctor!.

Just to give you a basic understanding of Bipolar disorder I will type out an excerpt out of book of mine about Bipolar disorder (I have a doctorate in Psychology)

"Bipolar disorder, formerly called manic-depressive illness, is a condition that affects more than two million Americans!. People who have this illness tend to experience extreme mood swings, along with other specific symptoms and behaviors!. These mood swings or "episodes" can take three forms: manic episodes, depressive episodes, or "mixed" episodes!.
The symptoms of a manic episode often include elevated mood (feeling extremely happy), being extremely irritable and anxious, talking too fast and too much, and having an unusual increase in energy and a reduced need for sleep!. It's also very common for someone to act impulsively during a manic episode, and engage in behaviors that are risky or that they later regret, like spending sprees!. And in over half of all manic episodes, people are troubled by delusions or hallucinations!. For example, they may think they have a relationship with someone famous, claim to be an expert in an area they really know nothing about, feel paranoid (unusually fearful), or hear voices that are not there!.

The symptoms of a depressive episode often include an overwhelming feeling of emptiness or sadness, a lack of energy, a loss of interest in things, trouble concentrating, changes in normal sleep or appetite, and/or thoughts of dying or suicide!.

A mixed episode includes symptoms that are both manic and depressive!."

Many people can beat this and I hope you can to!. I wish you good luck with this!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Situational depression can come and go!. Dependent on the stress you are under at the current time, it could be anxiety or depression, or both!. You may need a little medical help to get through this!.

You are a young wife and mother!. We know nothing of the help and support, if any, given to you by your young spouse!.

Your mind is cluttered with a thousand things to do and that, in and of itself, can be extremely irritating and frustrating!.

How much sleep are you getting!? Probably not enough!. Try taking naps when the baby is down, if you are able!. If not, then hubby needs to get out of bed and change diapers, heat bottles, and let you sleep every other night!. If he says "No", then inform him the chances of him ever having the opportunity of doing what created the current problem, have just greatly diminished!. Trust me!.!.!.he will see your logic, sooner or later!

Hang in there!. Wait till the baby is a teenager!. You will look back on these days with fond memories!.
