Is it possible to be a sociopath and be able to hide it?!

Question: Is it possible to be a sociopath and be able to hide it!?
i have no real empathy for others, like i can't feel it!. The only non-sociopathic traits i have are:

-high anxiety
-no desire for thrill

However, i don't feel things i should in situations concerning other people!.

My actions in life haven't been exemplary up to now- the only thing that stops me from being a criminal is anxiety!. i have a history of depression!.

However, i find that this lack of empathy is visible to others, like they can sense it!.!.!.!.this further enhances the isolation and dehumanization!.

As someone who wants to get along with others (and possibly even be liked), is it possible to hide this!? Can anyone relate!? Www@Answer-Health@Com

Here is the DSM-IV's criteria for Anti-Social Personality Disorder (which use to be known as Sociopathy):

There is a pervasive pattern of disregard for and violation of the rights of others occurring since age 15 years, as indicated by three (or more) of the following:

1!. failure to conform to social norms with respect to lawful behaviors as indicated by repeatedly performing acts that are grounds for arrest

2!. deceitfulness, as indicated by repeated lying, use of aliases, or conning others for personal profit or pleasure!.

3!. impulsivity or failure to plan ahead

4!. irritability and aggressiveness, as indicated by repeated physical fights or assaults

5!. reckless disregard for safety of self or others

6!. consistent irresponsibility, as indicated by repeated failure to sustain consistent work behavior or honor financial obligations

7!. lack of remorse, as indicated by being indifferent to or rationalizing having hurt, mistreated, or stolen from another

The individual is at least age 18 years!. There is evidence of Conduct Disorder with onset before age 15 years!. The occurrence of antisocial behavior is not exclusively during the course of Schizophrenia or a Manic Episode!.

I do not recommend self-diagnosis!. However, if you feel that you meet some of the criteria listed above, I'd say that a trip to a psychologist may be a good idea for a proper diagnosis, if you are concerned about it!. Attempting to hide how you're feeling probably is not a good idea!. Therapy is a wonderful way to take care and fix the problem, rather than attempt to cover it up!. Contrary to popular believe, therapy is not for crazy people and it does help!. After all, even therapists need to have a therapist!. God knows that I do!Www@Answer-Health@Com

I am not sure how old you are, but that may have something to do with it!. You may just not have matured or had enough life experience yet to develop empathy!. It takes a while to be able to relate things that happen to other people and be able to feel sympathy and empathy!. Now I feel empathy and sympathy!. I do remember a time where I thought I should be feeling something, but was not!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I am not a clinician of any sort, so I won't pretend to diagnose you, but real sociopaths don't care about what other people think and wouldn't even begin to try and hide it, nor would they care if they didn't hide it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

On the treatment of depression and defense, have the right approach, you can refer to the information!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
