Question: What would you do if you were in my situation!?
I lost my mom a couple of years ago!. The reason was is the doctor wanted to wait to see what would happen knowing her arteries in her neck was clogged!. We woke up one morning in January of 2006 and found her having a stroke!. We called 911 and they took her to providence a catholic hospital!. They have their own beliefs and wouldn't give her the medicine to stop the stroke!. A week later she died!. I promised myself i would NEVER go to providence again even if i was dying!. Well my Orthodontist is in Providence!. This is my second time going their since everything (He has different areas he goes to) We had to go here to get braces on and my other appts!. can be made at his other clinics!. But i am so upset!. Actually, as painful as this might be for you, this experience might actually be cathartic for you!. It has been about two years since your mother passed away; and you do need your braces!. It's like since this is really the only clinic where they will put your braces on, you really don't have much of a choice!. At this point, I wouldn't worry too much about the hospital's beliefs because, usually, orthodontics alone is not much of an invasive practice (I know because I wore braces for four years)!. As far as their beliefs go, I would only worry if you started needing stuff like orthodontic surgery, where that is invasive and you may have to face choices of being put under certain types of anesthesia or take oral medicines and the such (anything having to do with cutting your mouth open, pulling teeth, or putting anything into your bloodstream)!. Just be conscientious about your care, don't be afraid to ask questions about what your Dr!. plans to do to you & you can even share your concerns with that doctor if you feel comfortable!. Remember, as a patient, you are always in control of your care and what happens and what is done to you, and if you don't feel comfortable, don't do it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
I'm glad you were strong enough to go there I wouldn't have been able to it would have been too emotional!. I probably would have found another dentist close by with good credentials!. Www@Answer-Health@Com
