Stress and Depression are in the same "ball park" but are not the same!. They are clinical descriptions with precise meanings!. Excessive Stress can lead to Depression but not always the other way round!.

Typical Stress symptoms include:
going to sleep ok but waking at night between about 2 and 3,30 am;
displaying inappropriate humour, such as making sick or sarcastic jokes at work or at some disability;
hypertension;
continous irritability (not just short temper) and intollerance of other's mistakes;
lack of long term concentration;
bowel problems!.

Depression symptoms could include some or all of the above and may also extend to a lack of socialbility!. There are others but I would be guessing!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

On the other question about depression, usually when people are chemically imbalanced in the brain due to some kind of abuse, may it be drugs alcohol possibly even emotional abuse they hold it in!. Hereditary issues are possible, Sometimes lack of nutrition,
sleep,
When it comes down to it, depression is the feeling of or should i say lack of, motivation, and more of isolation, not caring about the things in your life that should matter the most, like family friends, You find yourself crying for no reason, small to big breakdowns wanting to sleep all day and find yourself with a tub of ice cream watching reruns all day and not answering the phone!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
