Help with ADHD teenager....pleeeez!!!?!
Question: Help with ADHD teenager!.!.!.!.pleeeez!!!!?
I have a 16 yr old that has adhd disorder!. He is not currently on meds but we have a dr!. appoint!. in a few days to start back on them!.
My question is!.!.!.!.!.
if you have a kid with this disorder do they do stuff like:
Put chewed chewing gum in odd places (like the tub, or pantry shelf,shelf, ect!.!.)
put waded up paper towels in places everywhere EXCEPT the trash can!.!.!.!.
Ask him to straighten up the kitchen!.!.!.!.he puts empty mayo jar on top of frig, salt shaker in the frig, basically lots of little weird stuff outta place!.
He swears that he doesnt remember doing these things!.
But he is a pathalogical lyer!.!.!.so I dont know if he really doesnt remember!.
Is chronic lying part of ADHD!?!?!?!?!?
I know that we all ocassionally put things where they dont belong BUT this is WAY over board!.
Is this part of ADHD or is something else going on!?
HELP! Its driving me nuts! I live with a pig, not to even mention the lies and disrespect that he gives us as parents!

I have got a 15 year old little sister with ADHD!.
She does not do any of those things you mentioned, but everyone is different!. The symptoms for each individual will vary!. It also depends on the severity of it!. Is your son on the spectrum or does he have severe ADHD !?
It is quite common to have more then one mental illness, so it is quite possible that his symptoms are from something else!. Has he been tested for Aspergers !? ( A mild form of Autism )
I advice you not to set your hopes to high on the medication!. Do not expect a miracle cure!. Mediation is not always effective!. In-fact, it made my sister a lot worse!. Personally, I think that the best form of medication, is the natural one - discipline!. Although, I have to admit, my parents are not particularly good at enforcing that!.
As for the lack of respect, I think that is more to do with his age then anything else!. The majority of teenagers his age are like that these days!. It is not unusual!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

i thought ADHD was when a person cant concentrate!. Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder!. my friend's brother has the ADHD!. he has problems finishing homework he gets very caught up with other things and frustrated!. but once he got on meds he made it in2 the honor society

He deffinitly has ADHD cuz that is how my younger bros act and they have adhd and I have Adhd and I take concerta 72mg and it works well!. I think he might have autism because he is a teen and should be more mature!. I hope i helped!. Get him tested for autism!

There are many sites that you can see just what traits an ADD'er displays, also many children that suffer from ADD, also suffer from other problems!. A child psychologist is what you need!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
