Answers:
they are both pretty much the same but a psychiatrist can write RX and a psychologist does not!. the psychiatrist is trained on RX treatment of mental disorders where a psychologist is more of a counselor!.

"Psychiatrists are physicians who have earned an MBBS/M!.D!. or a D!.O!. professional degree, whereas psychologists have earned a doctoral degree Ph!.D!., Psy!.D!., or Ed!.D!. Psychiatrists generally spend shorter periods of contact time with clients/patients, and the principal method of treatment is psychopharmacology!. " - THIS QUOTE COMES FROM:

A psychiatrist prescribes medication as a psychologist doesn't!.

A psychologist is more of a therapist and counselor!. A psychiatrist does the same thing, but mainly prescribes medication if you need to be on them!. To me, it's good to see both, but either one is okay!. If you feel like you need to be on medication, than choosing a psychiatrist would be better than having a psychologist!. Than ask them if it would be good to see a psychologist!.

Hope this helps!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

wellllll!.!.!.!.!.
you could really go to both!. i would recommend a psychologist!. you could talk to this person and they could give you advice!. they could also refer you to a psychiatrist!. !. this person CAN prescibe medicine while a psychologist cannot!. but the psychologist can suggest you take a medicine while you'd have to go to another doctor to get the prescription (you can go to your regular doctor for this)Www@Answer-Health@Com

Psychiatrist can prescribe medication, but a psychologist can't!. They are both therapists though!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I too ask the same thing and I still don't know the answer!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
