Question: Seroxat > Fluoxetine > hell > death !?!?
i was taking seroxat for a long long time then read about all the horrible effects this has on people and i felt it myself!. i havd really really bad memory problems so i stopped taking these seroxat completley!. it took me a good week or so then i started feeling really sick every day and i want to kill myself and i want to beat people up and i feel really angry and sick!. so i went to the dr and told the dr that i felt sick!. the dr say i should not stop taking it suddenly but reduce dose!. i said NO i dont want no more of this horrible tablet!. the dr dont understand how i feel - i feel like i want to die now and i have LOTs of tablets here to do it !. for the first time i feel like i want to do it!.
So i asked the dr if there is any other tablet i could take and they give me fluoxetine!. I have not touched it cause it yet looks like more trouble!. I dont know what to do!. should i take these new tablets!? there is no way i am going to take seroxat again now i know about it!. is prozac better than seroxat is what i need to know!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Seroxat comes from the same group of tablets as Prozac; they are both SSRIs!. However, they are different in some respects and I understand Prozac stays in the blood stream much longer than Seroxat!.
I know that Seroxat has had some really bad publicity but I've been on it several times and not had any problems at all!. The problem is that people seem to think that anti-depressants are some kind of magic pill that cures all, and I felt suicidal whilst on an anti-depressant just because I had an extremely low patch that I couldn't seem to pull myself out of!. I'm sure loads of other people have felt suicidal whilst on various different anti-depressants!. The problem arises because anti-depressants list side effects which are the same as having depression ie anxiety, suicidal thoughts etc, and this is why people think it is the tablet, but they more than likely would have been in the same situation with a different tablet or with being on no anti-depressant!.
I'm now on Venlafaxine (Effexor) and I've noticed that if I forget to take this tablet for a couple of nights I become a bit twitchy and this was something I never experienced with Seroxat!.
However, if you are not happy about being on Prozac go back to your doctor and insist you are put on a different type of anti-depressant!. As there are numerous anti-depressants available this shouldn;t be a problem!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
