Klonopin, Zoloft and Alcohol?!

Question: Klonopin, Zoloft and Alcohol!?
I am currently on !.5 mg of Klonopin and 1 g of Zoloft (panic disorder)!. I went to a friend's party last night, played a game of beer pong and from that, had about two beers!. However, I was gone and drunk already!. I know I am not suppose to drink with the meds, it was my first time!. My question is, Is it normal to become drunk from two beers while taking the meds!? I know alcohol greatly multiples the affects of the meds!. I also learned my lesson of not to drink with my meds!. Thank you for any answersWww@Answer-Health@Com

The klonopin greatly multiplies the effect of alcohol!. Someone who may be able to handle five or six beers without becoming incapacitated can find themselves utterly incoherent and trashed after a single one!. Zoloft isn't particularly good to mix with alcohol either, but that klonopin is a benzodiazepine tranquilizer, and their mechanism of action enhances that of alcohol!.

Glad you learned your lesson!. Even more glad you didn't get hurt!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

YES!. Klonopin (Clonazepam) is a potent Benzodiazepine and when consumed with alcohol, the mixture can be frightening!. The mixture of these will slow your involuntary actions like breathing and heart-beats!. It can also cause a drug-induced amnesia episode, which can effectively erase all your memories prior to beer pong and the recent thereafter lol!. But in all seriousness, it can be fatal due to the extreme Central Nervous System depression!.

As far as alcohol vs SSRI (class of drug zoloft is in); there have been some claims of more rapid intoxication when alcohol is consumed!. but its not a good idea as alcohol is a depressant which can effectively negate zoloft's positive effects!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

Its normal!. Zoloft makes it feel like you had 6 beers instead of two!. So you will most likely get drunk faster!. I wouldn't say its a bad thing to drink with your meds because life is about having fun!. And shouldn't have to give up something that you might like to do once in awhile!. I wouldn't just drink that much though!. Maybe like every other weekend or something!.

I take Zoloft as well, and every time I drink about 2 beers I feel super drunk!. But I don't mind because I hate the taste of beer anyways!.

yes, it is normal!. so glad you learned your lesson!. i know so many who don't!. and they are so sick!. i mean really really may die soon sick!. now you know!. you sound like a very conscientious person!. don't be hard on yourself for checking out what would happen!. ok!? the important thing is that you will not repeat it and i commend you for that!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Not unusual at all!. Zoloft in particular increases the effect of alcohol, as well as adding its own effects, causing you to get drunk very quickly!. It also can cause a lingering effect over the next several days, so drinking on Zoloft is not recommended!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

It's the Klonopin that potentiates the effects of alcohol!. The combination is dangerous and can cause respiratory depression and death!. BE CAREFUL!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Although I dont take the meds that you do, I also had a work function where we were offered drinks and had two drinks and was drunk!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
