Yes, totally! It is one of the symptoms!. It is part of their medical condition and has nothing to do with them intentionally doing it!. They have absolutely no control over it when it happens!.

Here's a website that I hope will help!.

yes--inability to respond appropriatey to social cues is one trait (which of course does not mean that this means anyone like that has aspergers, nor that all people with aspbergers have that trait to the same degree) but yes, to answer your question!.they often have to be taught things that come naturally to others since they see things more literally; shades of gray in the middle, nuances, seeing another's viewpoint or experiences is genuinely harder, not just a function of being "difficult" on purpose!. go look for this book in the bookstore, a best-seller I think, an autobiography a bout a guy with aspergers written as an adult with a photo of a very upset boy on the cover!. he laughed when told of some misfortune and got into trouble for it big time and explains in the book what was going through his head, not knowing how to respond and feeling anxious about it while others observing this thought he was being sadistic!. anyone who works in the bookstore will help you find it and probably saw it displayed prominently for a couple of months at lest!. don't hold it against me that I don't know the title! just look for a hardcover with a grimacing kid of about 10 on the cover, a huge photo that looks very retro/60's-ish!. very insightful book, but especially his retelling of that incident from his viewpoint!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
