Question: Does my brother have some type of mental problem!?
Does my brother have some type of mental problem!? He is four years old and
-loves to stack and sort and make patterns out of blocks and books and other toys
-talks in a really high pitched voice
-screams like a girl
-walks with his feet pointing inwards (looks wierd)
-is very picky
-acts like a baby to get attention sometimes
-loves playing with barbies coz surrounded by girls and loves playing with their hair(once played with barbie for 2 hours straight)
-talks in jibberish sometimes
-talks regularly sometimes
-always wears shoes on wrong foot
-cant count
-is scared to death of swimming in pool even if someone carries hinm in 3 ft with floaties
-very sensitive
-loves play doh and girl things
-does not like boy cars or hot wheels
-is scared to pedal baby bike with training wheels
-holds a fork really wierd

He very well might have a form of Autism!? The people in my family say that I didn't even talk until I was 5 and I was diagnose as Austistic just five years ago and I am 23! His form may not be severe and with the right guidance he should be able to grow up normal!. Sometimes it is hard to tell if someone is autistic because they can appear to have no learning disabilities!. But just the slightest abnormal behavior could be a sign of Autism!. Some children will only show symptoms as minute as one eye being bigger than the other!. Check with your parents and see if they would take him to a doctor that could diagnose a condition if he has one!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
I'll have to say yes because those are many things a regular 4 year old boy wouldn't do!. I suggest you take him to a doctor or therapist right away because he'll get used to all that stuff and start doing it in the future!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
No, sounds like a typical kid!. Mine does that too!.
He should be in preschool to learn some different behaviors and to socialize with other children his age/gender!.
