My OCD hinders me in school, what can I do?!

Question: My OCD hinders me in school, what can I do!?
I have been diagnosed with ocd, but I already knew I had it!. I have this horrible issue with math!. Like, during a test or something, I can never just do the problem one time!. I have to do it over and over until I am sure that the answer will never change!. Sometimes I do it twice, a few times i've done it over fifty times!. I have a hard time finishing!. The teachers understand but it takes me so long!. I am going into college, and I don't think the teacher will give me that much of a break!. Can a doctor/therapist give me medication for it!? This is the only symptom of ocd that I have that is kind of a big hassle!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

I have very mild ocd!. Everytime you rework that math problem you are relieving your anxiety!. You feel better at first right!? Then you start second guessing yourself thinking "maybe I did it wrong!?" Then you do it again!. And again!. I would suggest doing things to relieve anxiety, like exercising, belly breathing, and of course talking to a therapist!. As far as medication goes, I'm not sure!. I never took any, I forced myself to check it once (I kept checking to see if the stove was off) and leave it alone!. My fear was fire, sounds like your fear is getting a problem wrong!. Just tell yourself it's no big deal if you get one wrong!. Do the problem maybe twice and force yourself (this is difficult to do trust me!) to move onto the next one!. Good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

A psychiatrist can prescribe medication for your OCD!. The medication is very effective!. A therapist can not prescribe medication!.

Regarding college, if you have an official diagnosis written by your doctor, the school makes allowances for your condition!. It is the law!.

So don't worry about college!. And feel assured that your OCD can be alleviated!.

Go to a psychiatrist soon!. You'll feel so much better!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Most colleges have a disabilities office, and so long as you have an official diagnosis, the should make special arrangements for your testing to allow you the extra time you need!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

Definitely go to your doctor about this!. Medication may well help, but longer term therapy might end up being the better answer!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I have OCD too!.
Sometimes, when I write, I must cancel and write all over again to see if my words can be read, and afraid that the teacher may not read them!.

I taught myself to think about this: If I keep focusing on the handwriting, how am I going to get marks!? The question is about the main points, not the handwriting

Thus, you should try to relax yourself!. Tell yourself you have the ability to do one question once, and then check the answer after you finish the paper, and the answer will be write!.

Build your confidence by practising problems:D

You've got full marks for at least some questions right!?

I'm sure you don't need to do questions all over again to check the answers!

Also, if you really want to make sure the answers are right, write them neatly, so anytime, you get stuck in the question, just refer to what you;ve write!.!.It's easier to read!.
