Question: Can you be denied a job for your mental health even without it interfering with work!?
I applied to be a corrections officer and will have to take a psychological test soon!. I do have a disorder, but it doesnt get in the way with how i work or my life!. Can they deny me a job just because of my mental health, although it doesnt effect my work!?
Im asking could they deny me before even taking the test!? And if i were to pass the evaluation, could they fire me or deny me still because of my healthWww@Answer-Health@Com

This is a very tricky area because depending on your disorder depends on whether or not you would be considered a "liability" to your employer!. You say it would not interfere with your job, but truthfully it's all about perception!. If your psychological tests go well, I don't see any reason to disclose your disorder to them!. If they don't go well, then it may be because they see you as a potential "liability" and when working as a corrections officer, they may not be willing to take that risk with your life or anyone else's!. im pretty sure they can!. And some people still believe the stigam associated with mental illness!.

It depends on what you are diagnosed with and how you are dealing with it!. You'll have to inform them when you apply!. If your doctor can prove that it will not interfere, then they can't deny you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
