I'm very glad you are willing to go to the ER!. My father committed suicide and I have never forgiven him for it!. We weren't better off without him!.
They will not 'lock you up' but they will want to evaluate you!. As well, they will ensure there are supports in place before letting you go!.

If you want to kill yourself RIGHT NOW call 1-800-SUICIDE They can direct you to a hospital and tell you what you need to know and help they give!. If you've been thinking about suicide for a while, but know you aren't going to do it right now, call the number or go to the ER and ask for help!. If they don't think you're a danger right now they won't admit you and they can tell you where you can get help!. I'd call the number first!.

The staff Psychiatrist will talk to you and ask you a few questions!.
Then he will recommend you to another psychiatrist for a regular appointment if you need it and likely give you some "Happy Pills" to help you calm down and relax!.
The questions they ask might sound a bit silly but they are intended to let them know how connected to reality you are!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

They'll put you in the crisis unit so you can't do anything to harm yourself!. Its not a bad thing it just ensures them and yourself of your safety!. If you are truly serious about this it might be good to talk to some other people who might be feeling the same way which you will meet others like you on the crisis unit!. Www@Answer-Health@Com
Noone gets locked up if they voluntarily get help!. If u commit suicide whos gunna then go to work and support the family and put food on the table!.
