In men, how many calories consumed daily is considered anorexic?!


Question: In men, how many calories consumed daily is considered anorexic!?
Is there a figure such as 'Anything less than x amount of calories a day is considered anorexic'!?

I never thought of anorexia being measured in this way before and it frightens me!. I am a 'calory counter' and I never like to go over around 950!. I am pretty obsessive about my weight but I never really thought that I may have a problem!.

I know I should be having 2500 per day but I simply cannot do that!.

If someone can help me out with a medical statistic as to what is considered anorexic in terms on quantity of calories taken consumed daily I will be most greatful!.

( I too have wondered how 'normal' people can eat over 2000 calories a day, since I have to eat and eat and eat ( and eat some more ) to get to 2000 calories a day!.
I can eat three large meals a day and not break 1,200 calories!.)

( I have found that the easiest way to get lots of calories is to eat junk food, but I try to eat healthy and avoid junk food!. If I eat junk, I can hit 2000 calories a day!. )

Can an expert please answer the question !?

I know how a mirror can tell lies!. Don't trust it!. Trust the bathroom scale instead!. Compare your weight to other men your height!. If you were overweight and this is your way of losing weight, you will really screw up your body doing it by starving yourself!.
You will die of starvation, but still have a covering of fat that has not had time to be used by the body for food!.
( In other words it aint gonna work too well !!)
If this is a way of self punishment, well I'm there dude!. You know something though !.!.!. I found that the more I starved myself, the more depressed I felt and it just gets worse!.

When I started eating better, my mood improved to the point to where I wanted to live again!.
I think I know where you are though!. Right now you hate yourself and think you deserve to die slowly!. If you are like me, it becomes a game of 'how low can you go'!. ( weight wise )

A woman's body needs 1200 Cal's per day for the body and organs to function effectively, any lower and you are just damaging your body!. So for a man to consume 950 a day only, you are putting your health at risk of many illnesses & diseases!.
If you do not feel able to increase your daily calorie intake, please seek help from a professional, or a therapist, before your teeth fall out, and your bones crumble, and your organs fail etc!.!.!.!.

Anorexia is an addiction!. You know somethings a problem if it consumes your evert waking thought!. But if you are "healthy" and not "too underweight" I think you're ok!.

I think if your eating less than 1200 your considered anorexic!. Im anorexic right now because of my medicine, it depletes my appetite!. i didnt eat for 2 and a half days, and now that i did eat, i feel like craap and wont be eating again for a whileWww@Answer-Health@Com

Are you trying to lose weight or just not gain weight!?

It would be healthier for you to consume at least 2000 but just exercise if you are wanting to stay fit and slim!. Anything under 1000 calories especially for a man can't be good!. Small children require about 1000 calories a day, and i'm guessing your quite an average guy which means your tall!. You should most DEFINITELY be eating more than 950 calories a day!.

Can you see the bones of your ribs clearly!? If so this is maybe a sign you should try and eat a few more calories!. You might not be getting enough nutrition either with only that amount of calories, do you eat enough of every type of food or are you just sticking to things that don't contain much!.

Everybody needs meat, bread, rice, vegetables, fruits, sugar, diary and a little fat in their diets to keep everything working the way it should!.

If you don't start eating more things might go very wrong in the long run!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You are anorexic and need professional urgent help asap

You need to pick up the phone and make the calls that will ultimately save your life!.
Your doctor should be your first port of call and you will be referred urgently to a range of medical and mental health professionals who will educate you and help you on your road to recovery and normalise your eating habits!.
Do not underestimate the damage you are doing to your body and if you think that this reply is at all alarmist then you are wrong!.
I can only trust that you know you are in a bad way and need to get this sorted hence your question in the first place!.
